@virginmedia It’s weirdly up and down at the moment - like I can stream Netflix on the TV, but my Echo devices are saying that they’re not connected to the internet. Odd things like that.

@MartinSLewis Yes. I have a thermostat - it gets cold, rads go on. It gets warm, rads go off. So the heating is technically ‘on’ all year, it’s just warm enough that the boiler doesn’t fire up for most of it. Is this not normal?

An energy firm told me people hold out to put their central heating on, then once on it stays on for the rest of the winter. On that logic people will have turned it on during the Dec cold snap, and then even though it got as warm as before that after, kept it on. Did you?
