They want Americans’ information run through an algorithm designed by Musk and DOGE that could kick eligible voters off the rolls. They want to turn voter registration into a bureaucratic nightmare and limit how people can register. That’s the SAVE Act, and that's why Democrats will fight it until the end.

@thehoffather If there is provable false information on a WA State enhanced ID, will it still be valid for air travel? Is it still valid ID? This is why they had to create Real ID in the first place because WA state was issuing DLs to people without verifying who they were.

We are enthusiastically willing to pay TSA workers today, and we will keep trying, but the sticking point is that Republicans want to attach ICE funding to it. We are not in agreement about ICE, but I don’t think workers and travelers should have to wait for an ICE deal.

Congress should pass a law requireing all federal money that is distributed by the state to be paid back if the money was spend via fraud. Right now there is no incentive for states to care about federal money they are in charge of. If they had to pay back any federal money they gave out to fraudulent companies they would care a lot more about detecting fraud.

The White House is cutting off $250 million for Minnesotans health care.

@SenatorDurbin That just means the system is setup to make it very difficult to detect fraud. Tell me, where do the 15 million extra votes that Joe Biden got in the 2020 election go? Kamal was a more popular candidate than Joe was but got 15 million fewer votes.

The President claims that the SAVE America Act is necessary to stop the scourge of noncitizen voting. So I looked at the data. The Bipartisan Policy Center analyzed the conservative Heritage Foundation’s Election Fraud Database and found only 77 cases of noncitizens successfully casting ballots in American elections over 24 years.

The way mail in voting works it is almost impossible to detect fraud so how do you know if there is fraud or not. How do you know who is a citizen or not if you don’t ask when registering and you don’t audit against federal records. The system is intentionally setup to allow for undetectable fraud which is why your fighting reform that 80% of Americans want.

Voter fraud is already illegal. And incredibly rare. The average person is more likely to be struck by lightning than they are to commit voter fraud. This isn't a widespread issue like Republicans want you to think—they just want to appease the election-denier in the Oval Office.

Lisa Murkowski has been on the Senate floor for over ten minutes. As a member of the GOP, she's doing an EXCELLENT job of advocating for the SAVE America Act… oh wait... no, she's not. She's explaining why it's apparently TOO HARD to overcome logistical and geographical issues because of sled dogs and other things far less important than our nation's sovereignty. The amount of effort these people put into opposing something as simple as voter ID is astronomical and only proves how afraid they are.
