Treating neuroinflammatory disease with galectin-3 inhibitors from our GALE project has come one step closer with the discovery of a blood-brain-barrier permeable Galectin-3 inhibitor through AI and animal models by a team from the Fujian Medical University, Fuzhou, China. They demonstrated clear pharmacological and clinically relevant effects in a widely used Alzheimer's Disease model, despite the low potency and limited brain exposure. This is a strong signal ahead of our own experiments.

Dr. Alan Snow is presenting new data at AD/PD 2026 in Copenhagen this week, comparing Percepta against the top-selling memory supplements on the market for their ability to target brain plaques and tangles. This study builds on his 2021 study published in Nature Scientific Reports, where Percepta outperformed 20+ major supplements, including Prevagen, Neuriva, and Alpha Brain, in disaggregating beta-amyloid fibrils and tau tangles in vitro. The new results, yet to be published, replicate those findings – Percepta was again the most effective at reducing both amyloid fibrils and tau tangles across all doses tested, outperforming every major competitor. That puts us at a genuine inflection point for the Fission Bio program. The next few weeks matter. Of course, we are hopeful @Cerebrum_DAO @Molecule_sci.
