I got covid while pregnant in 2021, Immediately got an antibody infusion and was mostly fine, not even a sore arm. My yearly bout of bronchitis was worse.

@kenzietuff I didn't take a ton of tests but I do track everything when we are TTC. I would consider myself mostly low neuroticism but type A. We also mostly do NFP so I am already tracking tbf

If your wife is taking 8,000 pregnancy tests + obsessively tracking everything and being that neurotic over children already instead of taking a few if she suspects she needs to + naturally doing what married people do, you’re all about to have an awful time, probably forever.

@moriah_bridges I agree. If you are dressing to draw attention, especially at church, you are probably not being modest. Modesty is more than just how much you are covered.

The real modesty convo we need to have is about extravagant dress at church, esp jewelry.
I was always taught that you should wear your best for the Lord to church. I can see that. Recently, though, I had a friend tell me about how mortified she was growing up as one of like five or seven because her parents could only afford to buy her a few dresses, and she had to wear them all the time on rotation to church.
I think that the spirit of modesty is to not attempt to draw attention to yourself or to impress during worship. It’s just a hard line to draw between that and pilgrim larping, which also asks for attention.

@realDrTT My city has an interfaith council that our stake president is on. We do several interfaith events each year and volunteer at each other's events. Both local Catholic churches are on the council. The only ones who refuse to participate are a couple of evangelical churches 😅

@realDrTT We have a Catholic Church up the hill from my house. My mom has become good friends with the pastor there because she is on the interfaith council with him. Also my best friends in high school were all Catholic because we had similar values 😊 I love learning from Catholics.

I’m sure FSY is great, I’ve never been to something like that other than Trek.
But if our children are gaining their testimony from an FSY event, we’re not doing enough at home.
FSY should be a supplement to testimony, not the foundation of it.

I will go above and beyond to do everything with my perfect baby but I wouldn’t even go to my own college graduation bc I didn’t give af about that. Idk where the piece of paper is that says I have a degree but my house is quickly filling with frames of my babys gummy smile

i've never seen a girl get a degree and regret it, but everyday tiktok mothers are telling us how procreating was the worst decision they ever made. this is why i don't take the "children are a blessing crowd" seriously. it's such a minority of women who are fulfilled by it.
