@qazwsxedc165 @rpcs3 licence keys expire. modern bluray players actually update thier keys straight from the disc, the ps3 cant do that and thus needs occasional updates to keep playing bluray disks

Sony released the yearly PS3 System Update as expected, to version 4.93. It updates the Blu-Ray keys for movie playback on the console, without any other spotted functional changes. You can continue using your currently installed version on RPCS3, or update, it doesn't matter.

Lmao I’ve been saying that this would be the best, easiest, fastest and cheapest way for them to „update“ the SW1 library without relying on the devs since way before the SW2 launched on Reddit and I’ve been downvoted so so so much for it with people saying „it’s impossible“ or „it’s way to much programming effort for Nintendo for it to be profitable“ Glad it happened. That was literally my only real complaint about the switch 2 and finally it’s been resolved. Great change for once!

[Nintendo Switch 2 System Update] Version 22.0.0 adds "Handheld Mode Boost". This will make Switch 1 games think that they are in TV mode even when in handheld. Games can run at higher resolutions in TV mode, taking better advantage of the Switch 2's 1080p screen.

@RestitchedGame I love having a physics sandbox. One time I tried to make an escalator based on drawings I found online (I was like 12 and it didn't work), I've also tried making a combustion engine with explosives. That one actually worked a little bit.

@phil6891 @rpcs3 Emulating the XMB isn't a focus at this time for them. A fully functional XMB would require implementing multi processing, which is a feature virtually no games use thus is very very low priority to be added to the emulator.

@rpcs3 Right in thinking the XMB emulation isn't fully there yet please? Getting a lot of syscall errors on boot.

We pushed a few updates to our OpenGL render to bring it up back to speed, since it had some lingering issues here and there. If you have a GPU that doesn't support Vulkan, or simply want to use the blazing fast radeonsi OpenGL driver on Linux, make sure to keep RPCS3 up-to-date!
