When it comes to pensioners, ignorance of how things work excuses them from the consequences, but when a young person talks about how they were conned into going to uni and getting into debt, with almost zero returns on the investment, it’s our fault and we need to suck it up.

Triple lock is unsustainable.
Remember the boomers that are receiving it voted to remove the link between pensions and earnings in the 1980s because they didn’t want the tax burden
Then as they reached retirement age in 2010, they voted to restore the link and implement the triple lock - passing the burden, they didn’t want, down onto us.
Perhaps they should have “spent less money on coffees” or maybe they should “cancel their Netflix subscription” and saved money for retirement, instead of relying on a state handout.
