How about a #FractureFriday case? This one is like an onion- multiple layers, many involve tears. F49. Fell in the kitchen. No past medical isssues. Not on any medication.

@traumaticum @InvictaOrtho @FractureDoc If you are keeping the plate at end of the case, is it perhaps worth changing the unicortical screws for bicortical ones directed around the nail at the end of the case? Would probably give better pull out strength to the construct.

@InvictaOrtho @FractureDoc this had excellent ST coverage, so opted to leave it in. also not an insignificant consideration: i can only reclaim cost of implants actually implanted. provisionally used and removed... ha! no one is going to pay for that.

Can't say my training ever involved provisional tibial plating whilst nailing, but you folks have made a convincing case @FractureDoc @InvictaOrtho. this one was open, and plated through the wound after debridement. uneasy feeling, but trust the literature. #orthotwitter

Ideberg type 3 glenoid fracture fixed with trans-coracoid screw. Got really lucky with this one. Wasn’t pleased with the overall fixation immediately post-op. But 25y/F has great shoulder function, complete pain-free ROM with union at 6 months follow-up. #orthotwitter #medtwitter

Does locking plate and coracoid anchor augmentation for unstable lateral end clavicle fractures reduce the need for plate removal and improve patient reported outcome. journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11…
