@VitalikButerin i mean governance tokens and daos have been garbage so far but they are literally the basis for what differentiates crypto from centralized entities and one day there will be an iteration of this which succeeds and eclipses its centralized competitors ur tweet is in bad taste

The notion of "governance rights" as a narrative for why a token should be valuable is pathological. You're literally saying "I'm buying $X because later on someone might buy it from me and a bunch of other people to twist the protocol toward their special interests"

Despite sbf likely submitting some funky docs, they should have been analyzed in more depth considering the scope of crypto markets.

@x_Contrarian_x @dcinvestor @lawmaster @matthuang If simply looking at audited financial statements for a crypto exchange is DD, the funds etc deserve to loose. Very likely the diligence uncovered that FTX was more or less a MM and a CEX all in one and that’s enough for partners to give the OK

@dcinvestor @lawmaster @matthuang To be fair, institutional investors (whether you are in VC, private equity or hedge fund) are not going to do their own due diligence on financials outside of audited financials provided by the company unless there are reasonable doubt (which didn’t exist back then about FTX)

@ZK_shark @Ledger I’ve also seen threads saying contrary to popular belief, it is safu to take the ledger w you when traveling and there’s potential to need access. Long as seed phrase is properly stored, you can recover and transfer in case of a lost ledger hardwallet!
