Viewers fled the institutional liberal bias in the rest of traditional media because it was a counterpoint to what people saw as blatantly partisan yet you were gaslit to believe they weren’t.

I often try to explain to people that media bias isn't all ideological. The media is also biased towards bad news, stories about the media itself, sex, violence, money, etc. The fact that a quadruple amputee competitive corn hole player murdered someone is an example of another kind of bias: unusual stories that people like talking about. There is nothing inherently wrong with this bias. My only point is that biases we like are rarely identified as a bias. We just call it news judgment or editorial judgement, if we call it anything at all. nytimes.com/athletic/71421…
