I have been genuinely really angry lately that people have become so anti-intellectual. I know it's not the first time this has happened. It's not even close to the same era, but over time all political arenas have found excuses to denounce science and technological progress.

The fact that people no longer believe in human flourishing and see themselves as waiting to die is the scariest thing to me, not because it's necessarily true, but because it's a real virus that tears societies apart.
