So, other than drawing sexualized versions of teenage girls, what is Grok good for? I had this conversation with a tech salesman last night. In my daaaay.... We'd write business rules into our software, have been doing it since the days of corruption-inclined DOS-based systems in the 80s. Back then, before so much was offshored, programmers often performed the role of Business Analyst as well, going from manager to manager to super-user, gathering specifications. (These days called writing a BRD from "stakeholders.") Then business rules and some additional cleanup would make our data accurate, actionable and useful. With AI, you give it the same task 3 different time, get 3 different answers. Are any of its answers actually useful and accurate enough for a company to use? Who knows? You'd have to hire a programmer to wade through the muck of its code and find out. Might as well just have the programmer, or a team of programmers, write the code. Otherwise you're just falling into the trap of offshoring in the early 2000s. Everyone could see that you'd need American staff to babysit things, but it took a log of unusable software coming back for business managers to realize that. I, and thousands of other techies, could have told them that before they even started. But some people are gullible and easily manipulated, and have to learn the hard way.
