@msprettynanaxo Jamaica definitely has drainage systems all over the island. Some may be blocked or damaged (from Melissa but also from Beryl) but they do exist.

A coworker was telling me Jamaica does not have a drainage system. A lot of these natural disasters I feel can be mitigated with better infrastructure. It breaks my heart to hear 25 people died in Haiti after a river bank burst. Things are just unfair.

Don’t discourage me under this post. Being in the diaspora, how can we help our countries back home have better infrastructure? Are there any organizations doing projects on infrastructure in Haiti/Jamaica that we can contribute to? Especially with these natural disasters.

@ParisaFH THAT quake!!! 4:37 am, so it woke everyone up from sleep, completely disoriented and scared. Very violent shaking. A section of the Santa Monica Freeway collapsed. Hopefully neither of us will have to experience anything like that again! 🤞🙏🤓

@ParisaFH I feel you! I lived through the 6.7 Northridge quake in ‘94 - scariest experience of my life. We had a little quake (4.8) in NJ-NY last year and it was quite unexpected and strange. Glad yours was “fun.” 🤣

@DisabledDoctor Sure. Like all of us, this is particular to my particular set of symptoms & co-morbidities, but for me: Sleep - melatonin gets me to sleep, promethazine keeps me asleep. Histamine issues/MCAS - initially low histamine, sugar, gluten, zero alcohol & caffeine diet, loratadine

When I was diagnosed with hEDS at Mayo Clinic the geneticist I spoke to said there was nothing that could be done for it. In the 6+ years since then, I’ve realized just how wrong that was. What wild, unhelpful, or inaccurate things have you been told by your doctors about your medical condition(s)?

Was the lone masker on set again today, but since I was working with Jennifer Garner, it didn’t really feel like it. I told her we all are big fans of Violet and she said she would tell her. She said Violet is going to school to study Long Covid!

My family member had surgery in Van, BC. The pain team doesn’t talk to the surgical team. Surg says one thing, pain team says another. They don’t have one of the only pain meds my FM can tolerate. In a hospital. She hasn’t slept for 36 hrs and in pain, so we’re leaving. WTAF.
