I always say that when others run away from danger, our brave NYPD officers run toward it.
Nothing captures that more than this now-legendary photo of Chief Aaron Edwards, Assistant Chief of Patrol Borough Manhattan North, jumping over a barricade to stop a terrorist from harming New Yorkers.
Chief Edwards was a college student on 9/11.
Watching NYPD officers run into the Twin Towers while others ran out inspired him to join the force.
Earlier this week, when terrorists threatened fellow New Yorkers, he stepped up and carried forward that same legacy of courage.
Our NYPD officers represent the very best of New York City and the very best of America.
This is leadership.
This is courage.
This is the NYPD.

Today on International Women’s Day, I honor my mother Dorothy and the women whose strength holds families and communities together.
Mommy cleaned houses and worked three jobs to raise six children on her own and give us a better life. She taught us resilience, faith, and the power of believing in ourselves even when the odds were against us.

So let me get this straight. You support the Khamanei regime that killed 38,000+ protesters and maimed hundreds of thousands more. President @realDonaldTrump will go down in history as one of the greatest and most consequential presidents we have ever had.
His ability and willingness to make bold and consequential decisions for the benefit of future generations based on the hard and cold facts at hand rather than short-term political considerations is one of his greatest strengths.
No longer are we governed by the politics of the weak who have brought us close to the edge with their weakness and self-interested short-termism.
