@ttimemachines They also don’t consider of any of the books/resources Somerton used are still available. One of the books he used I knew and had but was expensive to get 20 years ago as it was out of print- god I’d hate to know how much it is now- also no guarantee they’ve have been digitised

this isn’t directed at op personally, but there's this terrible notion that everyone should have the time to seek out research that isn’t always easily accessible and that it's their own failure for trusting a video essay that is presented as researched factual information (🧵)

@flyagarick I’d like to point out that some of the books Somerton ripped off are very very hard to get a hold of and are ridiculously expensive 20 years ago when I wrote a paper on queer history, not to mention many of them are out of print
