This is what failure looks like. What is now required is a widespread recognition of what larger institutional failures are upstream of this sort of militarization of public spaces in a city once known for peace and order.
Toronto Police@TorontoPolice

Toronto Police will have an increased and visible presence across the city this weekend at places of worship and gathering spaces. Our priority is simple: making sure people can gather and celebrate safely.

Maundy Thursday. We wash each other's feet. After the sacrament of communion, the altar is stripped. The darkness of Jesus' betrayal becomes real. Almighty Father, whose most dear Son, on the night before he suffered, instituted the Sacrament of his Body and Blood: Mercifully grant that we may receive it in thankful remembrance of Jesus Christ our Savior, who in these holy mysteries gives us a pledge of eternal life; and who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. -Maundy Thursday, Book of Common Prayer

So, Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem at the same time that Israelites were to bring a lamb into their home to observe them and ensure that they were blemish-free. If they passed the test, they'd be slaughtered by the end of that week for the Passover Seder. הוֹשִׁיעָה נָּא!

@Jclearfield2 @TheBlackHorse65 Total depravity refers to the extent of the Fall while retaining the Imago Dei. It's exactly what you're suggesting.

@TheBlackHorse65 Total depravity goes a bit too far with the effect of original sin. When God made man He judged mankind good. Sin marred that goodness but did not totally erase the essential goodness inherent in God's creation.

@ThePersonPod I’ve been considering the idea that God is, in a way, divided based on our existence. Like in the end, God must gather us all to God’s self to be truly, eternally unified.

@kalezelden This particular class of person holds power across Canada on school boards, community activist groups, political parties etc. It's the reason my wife left social work because every organization was run by one of these demonic servants. It's not funny at all, they are everywhere

Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam's study on the catastrophic social effects of diversity surprised even him. However, they remain true to this day. For a refresh he found that the greater the diversity in a community, the fewer people vote and the less they volunteer, the less they give to charity and work on community projects. In the most diverse communities, neighbours trust one another about half as much as they do in the most homogenous settings. Less donations to food banks is a prime example of this.

🚨BREAKING - FOOD BANK MODEL IN CANADA COLLAPSES The Moose Jaw Food Bank says visits are up 150% over 4 years, but donations are DOWN 20 percent clients are now limited to ONE visit per month ....and the Food Bank is now saying state-funded food is the ONLY OPTION!

There are 1,400 empty church buildings in the Netherlands In Heerlen they turned one into a swimming pool In Arnhem they ripped out the altar to make room for half-pipes Others they turned into clubs, restaurants and gyms This country deserves absolutely nothing.

“I’m so glad to be here tonight with our wonderful Prime Minister.” She’s lived in the U.S. for 60 YEARS, since Eisenhower was the U.S. president and hasn’t paid taxes in Canada since Diefenbaker was PM. 😂
