The NRL will likely cover the cost of Super League clubs' salary cap outlay if a deal is struck in the coming weeks, a possible game-changer - but that's going to come at a price: namely clubs relinquishing a high degree of governance and control.

@CrunchAlias Usually, but not always. That's why we have different words, to convey slight differences.

@robert83047 @CrunchAlias Do you have trouble with cow & bull as well? stallion & mare? ewe & ram? stag & doe?
Has it occurred to you at all that the qualities of being male or female are not exclusive to humans and therefore we might have different words to refer to those qualities in humans?

@RosieKayK2CO @RealMattLucas @Gender_Unicorn @WirelessFest @PepsiUK Funny how, when its personal, they speak out huh

Have you released a song called 'Heil Hitler'?
Have you sold t-shirts with swastikas on them?
Have you promised to go 'death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE'?
If so, congratulations! You may be eligible to headline @WirelessFest, sponsored by @pepsiuk

@SouthamptonFC @EmiratesFACup My dad would have been so proud tonight. May this continue. He only ever saw 76. Id love to see the next one

@MrBoldOne @SouthamptonFC @EmiratesFACup Anyone can beat anyone on the day. Don't be bitter and mad about it.
English

@BurnsideWasTosh @SouthamptonFC @MrJonRotten @MrBoldOne @EmiratesFACup ?? Rupert was a massive part of the club for years. Was it necessarily his thing?? No i don't think it was.
What's your point or are you just looking for reaction?

@AmnestyUK You cant even define what a woman is ffs.
Pick your lane or stfu.
English

Watching Into the Manosphere, it’s easy to see it as collection of individuals sharing hateful views.
But that framing is exactly what the people interviewed want.
When we see them as isolated trolls, we miss the bigger picture.
The influencers targeting women’s autonomy are not alone.
There is coordinated movement investing in rolling back women’s rights.
Amnesty research uncovered 65+ UK anti-rights groups, 32 of which spent £106 million between 2019-2023.
This is a well-funded attack.
The Alliance Defending Freedom used the US courts to dismantle Roe v. Wade.
Emboldened by their wins in the US, they are now importing those strategies to roll back freedoms in the UK.
The Alliance Defending Freedom increased its spending in the UK by 187% between 2019 and 2023, for a total of £3.9 million.
They have their sight on women’s rights.
The profit-seeking manosphere gets rich from young men’s disenfranchisement.
They blame women and feminism for the issues young men face.
Meanwhile, the anti-rights movement invests millions of pounds to make changes through policy.
Their goal is to rewrite who deserves dignity and freedom.
Watching Louis Theroux's Into the Manosphere, it’s easy to see it as collection of individuals sharing hateful views.
This is not just hate.
It is an industry.
But we know even the most organised money can’t win against organised people.
The fightback is now.

@TheGreenParty @UKTogetherAll What is hannahs definition of far right?
English

"If we work together, if we find common ground, if we mobilise, make a plan and stick together - we can defeat the far-right" Hannah Spencer at the @UKTogetherAll march discussing how we defeat the far right in the local and general elections.

@january_myth They're very pretty but if they're of no use (or sentimental value) i think selling them to someone who would use them would be a great idea.

@KevoModesto @EarthToGazelle When victims are waiting over 400 days for trial.. I'm not surprised
English

@PhoenixRedRum @EarthToGazelle all due respect, if the case can't be prosecuted thats not a rape problem.
English

@KevoModesto @EarthToGazelle If you look at the figures.. rape is so far down on the conviction numbers it may as well be legal.
English

@PhoenixRedRum @EarthToGazelle sure, but the implication is that rape isn't enforced at all.
this is an addition to the already in place law.
it's an evolution of law.
you know.. like how laws work.

Heads up, UK residents — especially in Sheffield, Brighton, Bristol, Hackney & similar areas:Pro-Palestine "Apartheid Free Zone" activists are doing coordinated door-to-door canvassing in residential streets.
They turn up in hi-vis jackets (often pink or yellow) with clipboards, leaflets pushing Israel boycotts, and they log addresses/responses: "supportive / not interested / no answer.
"The hi-vis is deliberate — it gives a false air of officialdom or professionalism so householders are less likely to slam the door.
Critics call it mapping "lack of support" (i.e. targeting Jewish or pro-Israel homes), especially when timed for Passover.
Seen in Meersbrook/Woodseats recently with groups of ~25. Similar ops reported elsewhere.
This isn't neutral canvassing.
Know the tactic, film if they knock on yours, and push back if it feels like intimidation.
Stay alert. If you feel intimidated, report to police.

@KevoModesto @EarthToGazelle Which is what rape is.. lack of consent
English

@EarthToGazelle laws are already on the books for rape.
this is specifically about consent.

@EarthToGazelle @nubula93 If it were a movie script, it would be rejected for its absurdity

On Tuesday night Congo beat Jamaica in a football match.
These are the scenes in North London as people “celebrated”.
Apparently celebrating = breathing in nitrous oxide from balloons.
This has become something of a balloon huffing epidemic and as a result car crashes have increased significantly.
Barely a word in the media about this.
English

@LocoCocoPopps @Shiwon_NZ_Ao @OBEhizele Again, working in a group of colleagues is different from working with your school mates. You're making skills universal when they are not which is why customer service is down the toilet.
English

@LocoCocoPopps @Shiwon_NZ_Ao @OBEhizele Skills such as what? Writing essays and making pots from clay?
They don't have work skills at that age, thus is why first jobs are so important. My first ever cv had my details, my gcses and that was it. I had no work skills because id just left school!

I thought it would be helpful to do a proper thread addressing this. The scenes in Clapham aren’t just about crime or policing. They point to something deeper: what I've come to call "urban nihilism". 🧵
