The independent Ipsos poll from the same week tells a different story: 48% of Britons overall support new North Sea licences, with 44% of Labour voters in favour. Not 60% and 51%. The same Ipsos poll also found 69% of the public still support investing in renewable energy — which complicates the 'scrap net zero' conclusion somewhat. Two polls, same week, different commissioners, different results. The source matters.
