I will 100% agree with this. Yes our style of play has been all forms of counter attacking style; free flow attacking football with Ole, gengenpressing with Ralf Ragnick, Haram counter attacking style with Jose Mourinho, Unknown counter attacking style under Micheal Carrick. The only managers we have attempted to play a possession dominance football style; Ruben Amorim, Louis Van Gaal and Erik Ten Hag, all ended in tears, despite the last tweaking his style. Possession football is orchestrated and amplified in the midfield. We need that De Jong type of midfielder, maybe with the vision and passes of Pogba; but definitely not his flair. With Bruno Fernandes still in the picture, we need to give him someone who can dictate the play from deep. Imagine such a profile in front of Lisandro Martinez or Ayden Heaven. However, I think fans are beginning to get into this frenzy while Casemiro's exit is set and replacement not being a priority. If I were INEOS I would rather prioritize Tonali for now and get "De Jong" esque later. This is because it will be a disaster if Casemiro's shoes aren't filled with at least someone with 80% of his traits. Maybe that other profile/kind of midfielder can wait. The number 6 should be the priority
