correct me if i'm wrong, but China getting their hands on an ASML euv machine is a WAAAAAYYYY bigger deal than like some Nvidia chips finding their way over there, fuck
Andrew Curran@AndrewCurran_

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told ASML tonight that the US government believes that one of its ultraviolet lithography (EUV) machines may have somehow made its way into China. Senior administration officials said they have evidence that ASML is not acting in good faith.

@wsleysnipes @graysonguinn_ @shiningbower @jakozloski @GBBranstetter But why not take the least restrictive route possible? I think that is a good principle in general for any government action So require health and saftey standards for the horses, and severely fine companies that dont comply. I would rather see that than jumping straight to bans

@LukaBoiLmao @Showori_ @Azalakhir1 Because they see its an easy way to get attention and be popular, even if that type of attention is bad or dangerous. But that is not new either, these kinds always existed. Its more that twitter is just super lax on banning. These ppl wouldn't last long on other sites.

It's interesting how minors get told to fuck off from adult spaces like BAtwt for just being there. But when they post suggestive cosplay? Suddenly it's fine and they get full support. Big difference between quietly existing in a space vs actively posting provocative content

To clear speculation: We approached onkey a month ago with items that need to be addressed to ensure a safe and functional convention. We gave them ample time to show us they are prepared to host an event with proper security, labor and event management and we were not confident they would be able to secure these key measures before it was critically necessary with what was provided. Our primary concern is always safety when sponsoring or participating in an event. To anyone deciding to go to onkey, we hope you have a fun and safe time, however we will not be attending as these answers did not measure to our standards

@Janarab6 @Gasten95 That is a view someone can hold... shota stuff is pure fiction but this is based on a real person who doesn't want this kind of art. Not to mention the legal angle. I wouldn't draw nsfw because it leaves me open to a copyright strike from the IP holder (the vtuber in question).

@max_moefoez @vibingleaf @Tontada223 Professional studios wouldnt (shouldnt) be buying robux... they would be talking directly to the roblox support/devs and be paying an invoice or doing some other money transfer Making a professional studio use something as insecure as robux is just ridiculous. So whats this for?

@vibingleaf @Tontada223 yeah duh, smartass no one is actually gonna spend 1,000$ to purchase 100K robux for an expedited review on their game obviously expedited reviews are meant for professional studios that want a fast pass since they could easily earn 100K within a day or two WITHIN the platform

@jcal941 @kotetsutoysjp Kinda its still a politically apt position. In 2024 there were 3 Ds and 2 Rs on the commission and it passed 5-0, so unanimous anyways... Also the organization is currently fucked at leadership level since trump fired all 3 dems and left a lot of vacancies, which is unhelpful rn

@kotetsutoysjp So, this was passed back in December 2024, so not tied to the tariffs and such. And it's not by Congress, Biden, or Trump. 5 no-names that are on the board of the CPCS all agreed that this should be done, and it had an 18 month buffer to quietly sit. Bloated government problems

I don't know what will happen, but I've resolved myself to close the store if the worst comes to the worst. There’s probably no other option besides repealing or relaxing this law(regulation?). We've managed to weather the tariffs and the COVID-19 pandemic, but I really don't think there's anything we can do about this. The U.S. government thinks they can create every Otaku items in the U.S.

The seats have not been modernized. They're still the old school Weber cordite catapult from your T-38 days. No sequencing, weekly knowledge questions about controlled sequencing fire and no fire. AC acts as the director, RN acts as the jumpmaster for the jump seats. That low they never had a chance to get out.

The B-52 has ejection seats, but I don’t know how modernized they are. Four crew seats eject upward, while two crew eject downward. I’m hoping, but it doesn’t look good so far.

I once saw a helicopter go down in the East River next to Carl Schurz park when I lived on the UES. I was the first to call 911 and watched the whole nightmare unfold. The helicopter lost power, auto-rotated down safely, landed softly on the water, and everything seemed like it was ok. Except one of the landing gear airbags failed to inflate, causing the helicopter to flip upside down in the water. The pilot scrambled out and was screaming for help as he bobbed in and out of the helicopter, trying to rescue his passengers. Come to find out, this was an aerial photography tour and the passengers were secured to the helicopter via a full-body harness and a locking carabiner in the middle of their back. Nobody managed to free themselves from their restraints and all 4 drowned. Eventually the pilot gave up, crawled on top of the half-submerged helicopter, and floated down the East River as he continued to scream for help. Helicopters are death traps and will kill you in ways you can’t even imagine. Life is too precious to fly in a helicopter. It’s not worth it.
Daily Mail US@Daily_MailUS

A passenger on board a helicopter with YouTuber Oliver Tree was seen throwing himself from the aircraft after it collided with another helicopter in a mid-air collision that killed four young friends and two pilots in Rio de Janeiro trib.al/2Gxy6GW 🔗

@dumbfuck_actual @Selatrop @53gaDr3amca5t I mean the first war to use aircraft is pretty notable on its own. Let alone armored vehicles, poison gas, automatic SMGs, submarines. Plus the political fallout of the war was huge, ending empires and setting up WW2 In a way it was the most defining conflict of the 20th century

@mode_suspicious @53gaDr3amca5t meh not a great example cause their machine guns are like the one thing that was legit good. The 34/42 basically invented the category of GPMG and is still produced today as the MG3, rechambered in 7.62 with a slightly slower RoF.
