NEW: Wyoming teen finds a megalodon shark tooth off the coast of Florida. 16-year-old Aiden Andrews was on a fossil-hunting tour off Manasota Key when he made the discovery. Scientists say the megalodon weighed up to 50 tons, was up to 60 feet long, and had teeth the size of a human hand. The tooth found by Andrews was over 6 inches. Video: Fossil Junkies

NEW: CNN photojournalist put in a chokehold by Israeli soldiers before the entire CNN crew was detained in the West Bank. CNN says the crew was detained for two hours. The Israeli military has released the following statement to CNN: “The actions and behavior of the soldiers in the incident are incompatible with what is expected of IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers operating in the Judea and Samaria area.” They also noted that the incident would be “thoroughly reviewed.” Source: @JDiamond1

NEW: After 24 years, a daughter has been reunited with her mother, who vanished from their North Carolina home in 2001. The mother, Michele Hundley Smith, mysteriously vanished after leaving her home to go Christmas shopping in 2001. The daughter, Amanda, was just 14 at the time and has been searching for her mother ever since. "She’s still my mother. I would accept her back. I want her to know that. And I would just be happy that she’s alive," Amanda said during an interview in 2020. Smith says she fled her home in 2001, abandoning her kids, ages 19, 14, and 8, due to domestic issues. Now, for the first time in 24 years, the mom and daughter have reunited after local authorities were able to track her down due to a decades-old DWI warrant. Michele Smith had been living in a trailer in a swamp just three hours away the entire time, according to local reports. “Life’s so short… I’m not going to hold any grudge... I still want her as my mom, and a friend, and go from there and see," Amanda said.

So let me get this straight…a man beats an 84-year-old to de@th and a judge says prison would be ‘bad for him’? Imagine if the roles were reversedwould an 84-year-old get probation for hurting a 25-year-old? Absolute disgrace. Justice isn’t for the weak, it’s for the victims. This judge should be the one behind bars for enabling murder.

NEW: San Francisco judge Linda Colfax has released a man who fatally assaulted an 84-year-old because the prison sentence would have a "poor impact" on him. 25-year-old Antoine Watson was granted probation just two months after he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and assault. Watson violently assaulted Vicha Ratanapakdee in 2021, which resulted in his death just two days later. He was acquitted of first-and second-degree murder charges and instead convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Colfax says Watson being in prison would have a "poor impact" on him and didn't think he should be there because he "expressed remorse," according to the SF Chronicle. Colfax is accused of hiding details from the jury in an apparent effort to help Watson escape prison time. Infuriating and evil.

NEW: Streamer Clavicular arrested by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department after he appeared to fire shots at a dead alligator in the Everglades. - Clavicular was arrested on battery charges. - Bond was set at $1000. - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says they are “aware of a video depicting individuals in the Everglades on an airboat who appear to be discharging firearms at an alligator.
