@PeterObi For the notice of all the PO haters..The Falcon really appreciates his exellency, Peter Obi for his good wishes, that it indeed motivated them to victory. Haters oya wetin una get to say again...Mr P O, thank you for all you do
@abdullahayofel@PeterObi Him no dey see you sef, so continue to get a headache for person wey no kuku send you. He is a made man already. He only wants to help pple like you to be better.
Thank You All
From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank everyone for the outpouring of goodwill and birthday wishes I received worldwide. I remain deeply grateful to all who marked the day in one way or another, not to mention Nigerian youths, the Obidient family and the members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, renowned for their apostolate to the poor.
As for me, while I deeply appreciate the gestures of celebration, I must once again reiterate that I do not personally celebrate birthdays. I recall vividly when I turned 50, during my time as Governor. Many institutions and individuals approached me with elaborate plans for the occasion.
One institution generously offered to build a house for me in the village. When I asked for the estimated cost, they said it would be ₦120 million. I humbly requested that the funds be redirected to build classrooms in three educational institutions at Agulu, Ekwulobia and Abatete. They obliged—and the impact was far-reaching.
Another group had budgeted ₦20 million for a lavish party. I graciously asked them to consider using the funds to purchase desktop computers for schools. Their eventual donation of 200 desktops was distributed to schools across the state, enhancing learning for many students.
In a similar spirit of redirection, another organisation—whose intention had originally been to celebrate me—ended up donating buses, which we distributed to institutions in need, including one that went to the legendary Old Rangers Association.
This has been my consistent approach over the years. On each birthday, I use the opportunity to redirect goodwill towards causes that uplift others.
As I turned 64 years old yesterday, I must confess that the current state of our nation makes the idea of personal merriment even more difficult to contemplate. The scale of suffering and deprivation among our people weighs heavily on the conscience. This is why I have once again requested that all those who wish to celebrate me should instead channel their resources towards helping the poor or supporting our struggling health and educational institutions.
On my part, I have chosen this day to renew my personal commitment to continue supporting the institutions of state in the best way I can, especially those that directly serve the people.
Providentially, I was in Rome, at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels and the Martyrs, and my birthday coincided with this visit. I used this sacred opportunity, as I always do when I am in Nigeria, to remember you all in prayer. I especially prayed for our beloved country, Nigeria—that God may touch the hearts of our leaders, and awaken in them the realisation that public funds are meant for the public good.
May we all find strength and grace to keep striving for a more just, compassionate, and equitable society.
Thank you, once again. -PO
@Riddwane Let's say you're right...but the other question is are they contributing to Anambra economy or not?? The answer is "yes" they are contributing enormously
Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AiRS) has dismissed claims by former Governor Peter Obi that SABMiller Breweries is the highest taxpayer in the state, describing the assertion as misleading and not supported by official records.
The agency said the brewery is ranked distance 6th in revenue generation.
People will lie to cover their tracks
Is suspension not a form of removal
As we speak today is Fubara the governor of Rivers
Did his people not elect him for 4 years!
At the end of his term he will not have spent less than 4 yrs
So what argument lies are we telling ourselves
Has he not been removed Albeit temporarily?
Una go explain Taya
@NigeriaStories But I don't see them passing the bill cos this will joepadise BATs reemergence in 2027. But next question is...who den appoints?? Will it be transparent??
@BwalaDaniel Obviously you don't have work again, you know very well that he's not..and you know what he meant. You are part of those that have kept Nigerians in abject poverty, the intention is to keep controlling them. Just keep ur mouth shot if you don't have smth to say
They asked him whether when he becomes president he will fix power he said “yes because Egypt did it in 5 years”. They asked him how he intends to do it, he replied “it is not rocket science”; They asked him again “how would you do it, loll he replied “Egypt did it” this guy is a political scammer I swear.
I have consistently maintained that our underdevelopment is due to Leadership failure.
It is heartbreaking that our President, who is the leader of a country with the highest number of out of school children in the world and with the students in the capital of his own nation Abuja presently not attending schools, would travel to St. Lucia and offer scholarships to children there, while his own country’s education system is in ruins, and even currently his nation’s capital, the Federal Capital Territory, the supposed seat of governance, have public schools shut down and closed for months.
This is not leadership, it is negligence at its peak. It is an act of betrayal against the Nigerian child.
Nigeria has approximately 20 million children out of school, according to UNICEF, the highest number globally, with a literacy rate of under 60% far below the global average of 87%. Similarly, the life expectancy stands at a mere 54 years, out of the global average measurement of above 70 years, one of the lowest in the world.
On Human Development Index (HDI), which is the most critical measure of development, Nigeria is ranked in the "Low Category" at 161 out of 193 countries measured, while St. Lucia, a Caribbean nation, has a literacy rate of over 90% which is above the global average of 87%.
In life expectancy of more than 72 years, which is within the global average.
On HDI which Nigeria is in the Low category, they air in the "High Category"
So tell me, what sense does it make that a president of a country with such terrible and dire statistics would travel to a country with better indexes of development especially in education and still offer them scholarships funded by Nigerian taxpayers when Nigeria children are largely out of school and the teachers not yet paid for months?
Mr. President, by offering St Lucia students a scholarship, shows he knows how important education is, while depriving Nigerian students of the same access to education.
We must, as a nation, reject these continued normalisations of misplaced priorities and build a better nation for us and our children.
A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
@BwalaDaniel@PeterObi Bwala you won't keep quiet there if you don't know what to say...PO has done more positive in that regards than you and BAT put together.
Please can someone confirm to me whether it is true that on June 12, 1993 and weeks after that @PeterObi Peter Gregory Obi was in Malaysia or somewhere in Asia doing buying and selling trading business? I searched the internet to see any of his involvement in the struggle for democracy, I couldn’t see any link ohh.
For me, President Tinubu has done very well today by recognising those in the struggle of June 12th and the pardon of the Ogoni leaders.
Although I feel people like Dele Momodu, Sowore, and others should also be on that list.
This doesn’t mean I will not criticise the President when he’s wrong.
But today, thank you, President Tinubu.
@BwalaDaniel@PeterObi My point exactly @BwalaDaniel
He was frustratingly evasive, his answers were flat and filled with lies.
The interviewer, clearly not seasoned, couldn’t press him knowing he was lying.
If it were Dave Umahi, he’d be grilling him on specifics like cost per kilometer
Is anybody watching @PeterObi on Arise TV? He agreed with our policy of removal of subsidy and unifications of the foreign exchange; he claimed he would have done it better than us in an “organized manner”
He was asked what is the “organized manner” He played with words yet to arrive at agreeing with us.
Anybody with rational mind knows these guys are just looking to grab power; but they don’t have any alternative agenda.
He seem to have Very shallow knowledge of economics and governance
Remember this is even an interview anchored by a member of his Obidient movement ohhh that’s why you don’t hear “I put it to you” no barking like a Rottweiler; Yet “if it didn’t Dey it didn’t Dey”
I am heartbroken by news of the tragic accident that claimed the lives of 21 Kano State athletes returning from the National Sports Festival in Abeokuta.
These young men and women who have been cut in their prime represent the very best of our nation; dedicated, talented, and full of promise.
Their untimely passing is a profound loss not only to their families and the people of Kano but to the entire country.
It is imperative that we put in place and enforce safety measures to stem accidents and prevent loss of lives.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Kano State Government, and Nigeria’s sporting community.
May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may the injured recover swiftly. -AA
It's obvious that the biggest business for blackmailers now is talking about Peter Obi from every negative perspective. Even my solemn spiritual trip to Rome has been twisted into yet another blackmail campaign by merchants paid ostensibly to propagate anything negative against Obi.
One such individual, whose entire life revolves around blackmail, falsely claimed that I went to Rome to have a private meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding a purported ₦225 billion debt crisis involving Fidelity Bank. These claims are not only baseless, malicious, but entirely false.
Let me categorically state that I have never sought an audience with, nor met, President Tinubu since he assumed office, except about 1 minute meeting at the arena of Saint Peter’s Basilica Rome during the inauguration Mass of Pope Leo XIV, where I was seated behind, and had to respectfully greet him, and other dignitaries present.
I was previously in Rome on the 9th of May for the lying in state of Pope Francis. Immediately after the mass and exchanging pleasantries, I went straight from Vatican City to London, and then back to Nigeria.
The self-proclaimed "blackmailer-in-chief" and others who thrive on spreading pain and falsehoods have also claimed that I own Fidelity Bank. For the record, I do not. Throughout my career, I have served as Chairman/Director of 3 banks/Financial institutions, of which Fidelity is one of them. Fidelity has over 500,000 shareholders, none of whom hold a majority stake. What this blackmailer seeks is to harm these hard-working Nigerians and cause them needless distress.
To those peddling these falsehoods, and engaging in blackmail, I offer a simple prayer: May God grant you the virtues of gratitude and understanding to know that we came here with nothing and will go with nothing, that they cannot profit from their evil ways.
A new Nigeria is POssible.
