17 Children Rescued. Enforcement Activated. A coordinated rescue operation in Jangpura, Delhi, led to the identification and rescue of 17 children engaged in child labour. The action was carried out by the AVA team in collaboration with Just Rights for Children @JustRightsIndia partner BAL VIKAS DHARA @balvikasdhara93 , Delhi Police @DelhiPolice , and the Labour Department. Children were found working across motorcycle repair shops, furniture units, and roadside dhabas. They belonged to #Bihar, #UttarPradesh, and #Nepal, and had been in labour for periods ranging from 2 months to 4 years. Despite on-ground disruption and crowd interference, the operation was executed successfully, with 10 premises sealed during the operation. Timely Action Prevents Trafficking of 5 Children On 20 March 2026, the Association for Voluntary Action (@ProtectWithAVA), with AHTU @RPF_INDIA (NR) Lucknow, rescued five minor boys from trafficking during a joint operation on the Sabarmati Jan Sadharan Express between Lucknow and Unnao. One accused was apprehended. The children, from #Bihar, were lured with false promises and taken to Rajasthan for child labour. They were safely rescued at Unnao Railway Station and produced before the CWC with support from Childline. An FIR has been registered under Section 143(5) of the BNS. On 25th February 2026, the Association for Voluntary Action (@ProtectWithAVA ), along with Childline, the Police Department, and staff from the One Stop Centre, organised a joint rescue intervention in the area near #Nungambakkam Police Station. During the rescue operation, a vulnerable family of five persons, having three girl children aged 6 years, 3 years, and a one-month-old infant, was found living on the platform in the subway/foot overbridge with their parents in unsafe and unhygienic conditions. The children showed signs of severe malnutrition, and the three-year-old child also had a locomotor disability. The family was rescued, and the case was presented before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). After counselling with the parents, the two older children were placed in a Child Care Institution for protection, nutrition, and medical care, while the infant was restored to the mother with directions for immediate medical treatment. Raid and Rescue in Fatehabad, Haryana In a two-day operation in #Fatehabad, Haryana, @ProtectWithAVA , along with the Labour Department, AHTU, and DCPO, rescued 8 children working in various retail shops. The children, aged 14–17, were working for wages between ₹2,000 and ₹6,000 per month, with most coming from other states. After completing the legal process, these children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) for further action and rehabilitation. The children, residents of #Khagaria (Bihar), were being transported to Ambala to work in a rice mill after their families were misled with false promises. Timely Intervention Prevents #Trafficking of 2-Year-Old Boy. Within 24 hours of a 2-year-old boy being kidnapped from DDU Nagar Railway Station, @ProtectWithAVA , in a joint operation with #GRP and @RPF_INDIA led to his safe rescue and the arrest of four members of an organized child kidnapping network. During interrogation, the accused disclosed a disturbing pattern of crime. The gang reportedly used intoxicating substances to render children unconscious before abducting them. The children were then transported across districts and allegedly sold to intermediaries linked to nursing homes for approximately ₹1 lakh. The accused admitted to having carried out similar crimes multiple times in the past. The girl was lured to Hyderabad by a Facebook friend and held captive in a hotel for 2 days, where she was allegedly assaulted by 10-12 individuals. After escaping, she reached #Nampally Railway Station, where RPF and AVA intervened. FIR has been registered Cr.no 0-8/2025, U/s 143, 127(3) r/w 3(5) BNS at GRP Hyderabad. On 17th February, AVA – West Bengal, in coordination with #DLSA Kolkata, DCPU Kolkata, @KolkataPolice , and partner organisation @BitanFor , conducted a joint rescue operation in the New Market area of Kolkata. On 14 February 2026, @ProtectWithAVA – West Bengal, in joint coordination with AHTU/RPF Krishnanagar (Sealdah Division) @RPF_INDIA and partner organisation Sreema Mahila Samity @sreema1972 , intercepted a trafficking attempt onboard the Sairang–Kolkata Express (Train No. 13126). A minor girl trafficked from #Mizoram was rescued while being transported for exploitation in a massage/spa centre in Mumbai. Two adult traffickers, including one female, were arrested by GRP. An FIR has been registered at Krishnanagar GRPS under Sections 143(4)/3(5) BNS, 75/79 JJ Act, and Section 14 of the #ChildLabourAct. The child has been placed in a Child Care Institution for immediate care, safety, and protection. This rescue underscores the critical importance of proactive railway vigilance and coordinated action between law enforcement and civil society. On 10th February, Association for Voluntary Action (@ProtectWithAVA )'s General Secretary, Smt. Priyanka Ribhu, along with Partnerships Coordinator Ms. Sadaf Farooq, visited Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to strengthen collaboration with the Kerala Police under the #KOOTTU initiative. KOOTTU, a flagship initiative under the Social Policing Directorate of the Kerala Police, focuses on addressing child sexual abuse (#CSA) cases and promoting online safety awareness among students and parents. AVA currently operates counselling centres across four districts, providing child-sensitive support, guidance, and early intervention. During the visit, the KOOTTU from districts shared their on-ground experiences, highlighting the importance of coordinated, trauma-informed responses and community engagement in preventing abuse. AVA continues to extend institutional support to the Social Policing Directorate and is working towards expanding KOOTTU to ensure stronger prevention systems, timely response, and safer environments for children across Kerala. #AVAIndia #ProtectWithAVA

On 4th February, Association for Voluntary Action (@ProtectWithAVA ) conducted a successful rescue operation in the Dabri area of Dwarka, Delhi, addressing a case of commercial #sexualexploitation. During the operation, 11 girls were rescued from #exploitative conditions. Eight customers and two pimps were arrested. Preliminary investigation revealed that the survivors had been #trafficked from West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Maharashtra. Several girls were found confined and hidden inside an almirah, indicating severe coercion and restriction of movement. It was also disclosed that seven dogs were kept at the premises to intimidate the girls and prevent escape.
