Dear Chioma, Thank you for your submission. However, when you make statements like this, you provoke responses that divide our country further. The wise thing to have done would have been to praise these elegant Igbo gentlemen and their ethnicity without comparing them to others. Having made the comparison, you the poster appear unaware that even the outfit the celebrant is wearing is of Yoruba origin. The groom is wearing the classic Yoruba agbada, consisting of an awosoke, which is the outerwear, or what the Hausas call babanriga, and the innerwear, known in Yoruba as awotele, and the trousers, called sokoto, and a fila (cap) to match. Even the word, agbada, is of Yoruba origin. This style of dressing has no pre colonial connection to the respected and elegant Igbos of Nigeria. Please fact-check me: Even the isi-agụ that his groomsmen are wearing is a colonial heritage. It is not of Igbo origin, though the Igbos have adopted it as a colonial culture. Whereas the Yoruba made their agbada from cloth they weaved themselves, the origin of the isi-agụ is from upholstery material that the colonialists used for furniture. I have photos of Yorubas wearing this agbada in 1891 and can publish if you so desire. But you cannot find a picture from that period of persons of Igbos origin wearing this specific cloth called isi-agu. Even the cap that usually goes with the isi-agu (not the ones in this photo) is not of Igbo origin. They are winter beanies or head warmers that the colonialists wore. And after appropriating Yoruba culture, you then turn around to say this. That is just like wearing a skirt and saying you dress better than the Scottish. The irony is lost on the poster that to stand out on his wedding day, the groom elected to dress as a Yoruba man. Shouldn't that tell you all you need to know? Thanks again, and may God bless you. #TableShaker #GrowNairaBuyNaija

What you are about to see is an Afro-Cuban Ifa Ijoye ceremony. This ritual takes place on the seventh day of the Ifá initiation, when the initiate receives their Ifá. On this day, it's also customary to strike the initiate, as per our tradition. This part of the ritual is public in our tradition. The central figure in the story is Akala, the son of Orisa. It is said that Orunmila sought revenge against Akala for the hardships Orunmila endured because of him. In Cuba, while administering the strikes, the phrase "Akala omo Orisa, akala omo Orisa, Orunmila ma nbinu, akala omo Orisa" is recited in Lucumi. This translates to "Akala is the son of Orisa, Akala is the son of Orisa, Orunmila, do not be angry, Akala is the son of Orisa."

In my capacity as the chief marketer of Edo State, I was privileged to be the only sub-national leader invited among over 150 participating countries at the 10th Anniversary of the Belt and Road Global Chambers of Commerce and Associations Conference in Fuzhou, China. Many thanks to my friend, Mr. Lin Baojin, Secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee for the wonderful reception. The conference sessions were quite engaging and productive, considering that Fuzhou happens to host the headquarters of the majority of Chinese companies operating in Edo. Trailing only Lagos and Ogun States in Nigeria, Edo houses the largest number of Chinese companies, manufacturing steel, tiles, roof, ceramic, wood, etc. Among these companies is the largest glass company in West Africa. #InvestinEdo
