I think we should seriously start referring to the demographic transformation of South-West Sydney over the past 50 years as a form of ethnic cleansing. The story of the Bankstown Synagogue is a case in point. Built in 1913, the Bankstown Synagogue was the first Jewish synagogue in suburban Sydney. It was firebombed and destroyed in 1991 as the suburb of Bankstown rapidly filled up with Islamist migrants escaping the Lebanese Civil War. I was only dimly aware of the story before I decided to try look up the location of the Bankstown Synagogue today on Google Streetview. I was just curious to see what the street looked like today. And then it hit me. My jaw literally dropped to the floor. The destroyed Bankstown Synagogue stood just a few doors down from the site of the Al Madinah Dawah Center today - the extremist ISIS linked mosque in Bankstown that radicalised the Bondi shooter Naveed Akram. So Naveed Akram was radicalised on a street where Australian Jews once prayed before being driven out essentially by ethnic cleansing. Within living memory, Bankstown moved from being a majority Anglo-Christian suburb with a functioning Jewish congregation to a plurality-Muslim suburb dominated by harsh and extreme forms of Islam. It really is Australia's Molenbeek. If you compare known ISIS foreign fighter recruitment rates from South-West Sydney with census data from the mid-2010s you quickly come to the shocking conclusion that roughly 1 in every 100 young Muslim men in this part of Sydney fought for ISIS in the mid-2010s - or were stopped by Australian authorities right as they were leaving the country to do so. Naveed Akram was radicalised to mass murder Jewish Australians at a mosque located just a few doors down from a destroyed synagogue. Yes, this is ethnic cleansing.

I had a conversation with someone about being blocked by a now ex-friend on Facebook. Not a platform I use much anymore apart from posting about Israel from time-to-time. They asked me how I felt about losing some long-standing friendships so I explained to my well-meaning friend: I have family who were murdered in the Shoah. My father, a refugee after WW2 living in the diaspora, put himself forward along with so many others ahead of what became the Six Day War. There was no proper mechanism to take advantage of this but he loved Israel and would have left without hesitation to go and fight. I have friends who have fought in Israel’s wars after that and people I knew were kidnapped and slaughtered on 7th October. The carnage that day didn’t stay ‘over there’ - the death and destruction reached into the lives of people I know here in the UK, too. And knowing what those savages did to our people, how they tortured our women, slaughtered them and r8p*d their corpses changed us all. So if any of the pampered, privileged ‘be kind’ crowd think that I give the smallest, single, most solitary f*ck about whether I have their approval to be a Zionist or not, they are very badly mistaken. I couldn’t despise their Jew-hating posturing more.

I am against the death penalty. But the argument that Israel’s is “ethnicity based” is not true. If an Arab from Yafo (same ethnicity as an Arab from Ramallah) commits an act of terror, they will be tried the same as a Jewish citizen. The law in question applies to non-citizen terrorists.

Various things are said in the Tanakh about the conquest of Canaan. Hashem didn't kill all the Canaanites as this would have caused a plague of wild animals. Most of the tribes of the land were still there years after. The Jebusites continued to rule Jerusalem and the Hebrews shared the town with them. If we're talking archaeological evidence, there's no sign of destruction of cities at the time the Hebrews supposedly invaded. There are archaeological remains of Hebrews living a pastoral/agricultural life in the hill villages of Judea. Seems likely the Book of Joshua is another 'story', Baruch Hashem.
