The Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil Almost the definitive version of their (probable) greatest song. Two guitar solos, Jagger in unbelievable form; but the real magic here is the fluidity of that Wyman/Watts rhythm section. That’s what other bands couldn’t touch. 1970.

The Rolling Stones - Shine a Light A Leon Russell co-write, supposedly about the sad decline of Jones, helped taken to church by Preston. A spiritually reassuring, gospel-infused farewell to a tortured friend. 1972.

Today is Stella’s Gotcha Day. 14 years ago she was a sick stray puppy looking for a home. Thanks to @PAWSChicago she was given a chance. Adopt a dog, will be the best decision you’ve ever made. Also the gray hairs make her distinguished. We all are dealing with a little gray

The Rolling Stones - Some Girls Jagger the world-weary rock star drowning in gold-diggers and groupies. Sneering at the endless excess, the fleeting encounters; it’s exhausting, but someone’s gotta do it. 1978.

The Velvet Underground - I Found a Reason Lou making a bid for the radio after years of commercial failure. A beautifully weary doo-wop ballad about finding purpose through another that feels like a gentle exhale. 1970.

Big Star - O, My Soul Coming straight out of the gate, with Chilton up front and centre, a song full of surprises, joy, and the constant threat of collapse; yet it never does. This is how to open an album. 1974.

The Rolling Stones - Torn and Frayed A look at the less luxurious side of rock star life, with Parsons an omnipresent influence. Elegantly wasted country, with gospel feel, and the pedal steel grace of Perkins. ‘Cosmic American Music’; crystallised, by a band from London. 1972

NEW: The World Anti-Doping Agency is reportedly investigating whether or not Olympic ski jumpers are injecting their pen*s' with hyaluronic acid for a competitive edge. The announcement comes after German newspaper Bild reported on the bizarre accusation. The outlet reports that multiple people were previously banned from competing after it was revealed they adjusted their suits around the crotch area to provide extra lift. The scheme made the suits larger, reducing the rate at which they descended. One study found that for every 2cm in "suit size circumference," there was a 4% reduction in drag, increasing lift by 5%, which can reportedly add an extra 5.8 meters in the length of the jump. "Jumpers have switched to other methods to game the system when they are measured for their suits, data for which is taken by a 3D scanner from the lowest point of their genitals," the Guardian reported. "They include injecting acid into their penises or putting clay in their underwear to make their measurements temporarily bigger and therefore their suits looser for when they compete." In response to the report, Wada president Witold Banka said he was "going to look at it."
