@nivholls I took 2g for some time, never experienced ringing in my ears. Is it because my Aspirin is busy fighting inflammation a bit too much?

@lowmegatron This and Allithiamine have significantly improved my learned helplessness and self-isolation. It has been 2 weeks and I already have the urge tobe social which was never there before. I had experienced 10-12 years of trauma at home. I took 50mg allithiamine + 3g Taurine + omega 3

Taurine prevents depressive behaviors caused by chronic stress. This same type of chronic stress is known to cause learned helplessness. The animal experiment used human equivalent doses of 2 to 7 g/day. Behaviorally, taurine improved: — Anhedonia (inability to experience pleasure — Anxiety-like behavior — Exploration/activity — Spatial learning — Memory “In conclusion, taurine pre-administered to chronic-unpredictable-mild-stress exposed rats could significantly inhibit the loss of anhedonia, learning ability and memory deficiency, prevent the increase of anxiety to the new environment, hinder the increase of CORT (cortisol equivalent) and disorders of neurotransmitters in both serum and hippocampus, prohibit the down-regulation of neurotrophic factors, indicating that taurine has anti-depressant effects and the mechanisms may involved in regulating the HPA function, promoting neurogenesis, cell proliferation, neuronal survival and growth in the hippocampus.” Recently, low taurine in the hippocampus has been identified as a characteristic of depression in humans. “Taurine, a type of amino acid, plays critical roles in neuronal generation, differentiation, arborization, and formation of synaptic connections. Importantly, it enhances proliferation and synaptogenesis in the hippocampus. When injected into animals, taurine has an antidepressant effect.... This study demonstrates that a lower level of taurine concentration in the hippocampus may be a novel characteristic of major depressive disorder.” Ref: Antidepressant effect of taurine in chronic unpredictable mild stress-induced depressive rats Association Between Taurine Level in the Hippocampus and Major Depressive Disorder in Young Women: A Proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Study at 7T

Taurine protects the thyroid from fluoride. “In the 1950s, fluoride was used pharmacologically to reduce the activity of the thyroid in people with hyperthyroidism. Doctors selected fluoride as a thyroid suppressant based on study findings linking fluoride to goitre, and, as predicted, fluoride therapy did reduce thyroid activity in the treated patients..." Fluoride lowers thyroid hormones T4 and T3—showing it lowers thyroid gland output. Fluoride also lowers the T3:T4 ratio—showing it decreases conversion of T4 to the active hormone T3. Lower T3 is the main cause of hypothyroid symptoms. In animal experiments, both of these effects of fluoride were prevented with taurine. “Fluoride exposure significantly decreased the plasma levels of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) as well as the ratio of T3 to T4 in the treated rats. The decrease in these thyroid hormones indicates an impairment of the thyroid gland's ability to synthesize and/or increase the metabolism of these hormones. Additionally, a reduction in the circulating levels of T3/T4 is indicative of a malfunctioning thyroid pathway that fails to activate the negative feedback to the hypothalamus and pituitary...taurine restored fluoride-mediated decrease in the circulatory concentrations of T3, T4, and the ratio of T3 to T4.” This was a proof-of-concept type of experiment and the fluoride intake was high—4 times what is allowed in US water. The human equivalent dose of taurine was 1.5-3g/day. Ref: Are fluoride levels in drinking water associated with hypothyroidism prevalence in England? Had chips as “cheat day” & felt incredibly worse (after few months of abstinence so impact was pronounced) Gemini: liver converts acrylamide [present in Uncle Chips] into glycidamide. Glycidamide can bind directly to your DNA, creating "DNA adducts" that cause mutations

No. That one goes to NO Breakfast. Breakfast is not part of Indian culture except hard working farmers and labor who ate early before they went to work. Breakfast is an introduced concept. India's metabolic health will improve if Indians stop eating breakfast and go to lunch directly prolonging their fasting state to over 15+ hrs, unless advised to eat Breakfast compulsory by their doctors.

@Ggg1666349 @lowmegatron That can’t be safe. Not experiencing any consequences till now doesn’t mean that there won’t be any. Baby aspirin is fine for most benefits. Why did you think 1.5g is more effective?

Anyone who has taken high-dose aspirin with-and-without vitamin K knows something is going on there — as vitamin K significantly reduces/prevents bruising and excess bleeding. Aspirin is metabolized to salicylate—salicylate interferes with vitamin-K-dependent coagulation factors—this is limited by taking vitamin K. This is what Ray Peat was talking about when suggesting that vitamin K should be taken with aspirin. That’s why emergency doctors use vitamin K to correct salicylate-induced coagulation problems. Coagulation is a key part of the clotting process. "It [vitamin K] has many effects, some of them prevent abnormal clotting, others abnormal bleeding, others favor energy production and brain lipid synthesis, calcium regulation." — Ray Peat [Note the absence of a claim regarding platelets from Ray — and the effect of vitamin K in the case report.] The abstract from the paper that the snippets are from: "Case presentation: An 85-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital with multiple lumbar vertebral compression fractures causing severe back pain. The patient had self-medicated with excessive consumption of Bufferin A containing 330 mg of aspirin. On arrival, she showed no typical symptoms of salicylate toxicity, such as nausea, vomiting, hyperventilation, tinnitus, or hearing loss. However, blood work revealed a significant decrease in vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors leading to coagulopathy. The administration of 20-mg menatetrenone (vitamin K) resulted in rapid improvement in coagulation abnormalities. The patient's blood salicylate level was later determined to be 42.7 mg/dL. Discussion: Acute salicylate poisoning is known to cause coagulopathy because of the inhibition of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors. However, this case is unique because it demonstrates coagulopathy as the sole manifestation of aspirin toxicity without any other symptoms. Conclusions: This case highlights the importance of considering the possibility of aspirin toxicity in patients with coagulopathy, especially those who are regularly consuming aspirin." Ref:Unveiling the Rare Presentation of Acetylsalicylate Overdose: Grand Round Ray didn’t say to overdose on aspirin, or that vitamin K reverses aspirin's effects on platelets. He said that people regularly taking aspirin should also take vitamin K.
