I became the first Nigerian to win the Best Sports Podcast in Africa Award by @APVAofficial for my AFCON 2021–dedicated podcast through which @madeinafricaweb was founded. Ironically, when I committed fully to journalism in 2017, my ambition was to combine writing with podcasting. That second pursuit, however, proved difficult to sustain. It was not until 2021 that I was able to launch the podcast, and even then it remained a one-off project, constrained by production costs, long-term viability concerns and a permanent shift in focus towards sports data analytics before my eventual return to writing. It has been a remarkable journey in a relatively short career.
