@MillerDakotaJ I don't typically lean into gore with my horrors. While there is occasional gore, I usually lean into the psychological horror by slowly increasing the uncanny until madness breaks our protagonist. Madness is often more terrifying than a broken limb or a cut.

Why does horror always have to lean so hard into gore?
I get that death is baked into the genre, but it feels like there’s this default trope now to crank the violence up to the most graphic, disgusting levels possible.
That’s totally fine! I have friends who write gore horror and I honestly enjoy their work. But it’s just not my personal jam. I’m much more drawn to the slow-building dread and psychological/cosmic terror of classics like Frankenstein, Who Goes There?, The Great God Pan, and The Raven.

Of course all of us authors are hungry for more reviews. So here's my question to you, oh indie author: do you regularly review every product you get off Amazon since you see how important reviews are, or are you a raging hypocrite like me, who never reviews anything?

"Expel their veins" is just a polite way of saying, getting rid of shrimp shit (feces) before you cook them. It's how shrimp (and crawfish) are prepared.
If you're vegan, I get that, but if not, this is normal.

@NixanthyNoir Lol, no. It was more a see if I could do it. An excercise. I do think I did a good job though. 90 pages. 2nd person is interesting. Plus the puzzle of a gamebook.

It’s a sci-fi that borrows from westerns that borrowed from samurai films. Horror Western? Now you have my attention. Sci-fi Western? Hardest of hard passes.
