I feel like I’m going insane, but surely the IOS keyboard is making a ton more mistakes than before! It’s always getting words wrong 😬😬

When I say I'm an underwriter, I mean it. There's a 25K-word difference between Draft 1 and Draft 2!

@rachel_reviews Yeah, it is a good movie. It's not an Oscar caliber movie, but it's good. Also, I think Jamie Lee Curtis was fantastic in Everything Everywhere. I know people love to hate that movie, and I would've given it to Stephanie Hsu, but that's not Curtis's fault. She's fantastic.

Divorces - One Proposals - One (didn't actually propose the first time and that's one of many red flags I ignored) Marriage - Yep Children - Yep Surgeries - One (wisdom teeth) Tattoos - None Shot a gun - Yes, but it's been a while. Been on TV - Not that I know of. Watched someone die - Not actually been there when they passed, no. Rode in an ambulance - Yep Sang karaoke - Yep Rode a jet ski - Yep Arrested - No

Currently active (so won't include my beloved Hou Hsiao-hsien or the Coen brothers as a team) directors I'd take over PTA: Hayao Miyazaki Martin Scorsese Steven Spielberg Richard Linklater Guillermo del Toro Alfonso Cuaron David Fincher Spike Lee Damien Chazelle Ryan Coogler George Miller Wes Anderson Alexander Payne Clint Eastwood Steven Soderbergh Kelly Reichardt Robert Eggers Paul Schrader Charlie Kaufman Pedro Almodóvar Bong Joon Ho Denis Villeneuve Apichatpong Weerasethakul Jonathan Glazer Jim Jarmusch And probably others that I'm just blanking on right now. In case it wasn't obvious, I'm not a huge PTA fan.

Sidestepping PTA discourse to say here are ten currently active and in their prime directors I believe to be better: Lav Diaz Ryusuke Hamaguchi Pedro Costa Radu Jude Lucrecia Martel Lee Chang-dong Mike Leigh Apichatpong Weerasethakul Jia Zhangke Andrey Zvyagintsev

The way some people (not everyone) are talking about Paul Thomas Anderson like he’s some middling talent that was just discovered yesterday and not one of the industry’s most respected and celebrated filmmakers who’s been making revered masterpieces for thirty years.

@Wisteraverse Also, most US citizens have drank beer by the time they hit 18. I had friends that had drank so much they'd given up drinking by that age.

Dr. Shida Ketzer (follows back fiction writers)
An American beta-reader criticized my 18-year-old character drinking beer because they assumed it should not be allowed, despite it being high fantasy set in a fictional & historical world. Also drinking age (beer, wine) in Germany is 16. Not every place is the US!🤦‍♀️

So apparently there’s a lot of knowledge I can use from being Canadian and setting my story in Alberta Canada that is gonna make me seem legit. For example, the drinking age here is 18, my FMC is 19 and is surprised that she can drink at the bar (my FMC is American)

@cj_prin I think he's only made like 3 movies under 100 minutes (Who's That Knocking at My Door, Boxcar Bertha, and After Hours).

@GAltringham It's a good movie, but is overshadowed in its series by the first movie being great.

6/10 It's one of the 5-10 most beautiful movies ever made, but narratively I find it a complete bore, with the only characters of any interest being Batty and Sebastian. I feel like Ridley Scott thought it was an action movie, but the action isn't very good. It's all ultimately less than the sum of its parts. Sure is pretty though.
