Summer slide implies that students had previously reached a certain level of achievement and then started to lose that level over the summer months. In this case of the pandemic, students have not had the chance to learn the content or skills just yet. #nearpodchat #EdmundsOut

My dad passed away on Sunday and I’m still trying to process it. I spent the last few days listening to old voice mails and watching videos. Here is a video I made of my 82-year-old bricklayer father rehabbing to give you an idea of how strong he truly was.

@NicholasFerroni My fourth block class has a core group that stays on for 30 minutes every day. It's the highlight of my day. I get teary eyed thinking about it.

The virtual teaching equivalent to students stopping by your classroom or hanging out when they don't have your class is students staying on the ZOOM or Google Meet when they can leave. Today I had 3 students stay on and talk, and it made my day.

#SafetyFirstBPS Safe schools mean proper ventilation in ALL buildings! Our schools' ventilation is not adequate now and they definitely won't be in the winter! Worcester spent $15 mil to upgrade their systems, but the kids of Boston get half measures and cheap shortcuts.
