Born to teen parents, grew up on welfare, ended up a pregnant teen with a locked up baby-daddy. Married a great guy, found a mentor, built a career, graduated @penn_state, started my own company and support a family with a full-time, dedicated stay-at-home dad. #IBootstrapped

So Ive been a Costco member for about 15 years now, but never tried their hot dog, pizza, or chicken bake even though they are cheap as hell. $8 for all of this. My wife and I ate a couple bites and we threw it in the trash. I can see why its so cheap, it’s freaking disgusting! 2/10, wouldn’t recommend at all!

Because the alternative is to institutionalize severely disabled people. This keeps them with their family members For example, I know someone who has a young disabled son who has to sleep on a ventilator each night to stay alive and this program allows him to live with his family instead of hours away in a care facility If this program weren’t available, she would have to work 40 hours a week to institutionalize him. Because of it, she is able to provide him 24-7 care instead of a stranger

EXCLUSIVE: California spends $30 billion per year paying 800,000 people to cook, clean, shop, and watch television with family members and others. This "in-home care" program operates mostly on the honor system—and loses $6 to $12 billion a year to fraud. city-journal.org/article/califo…

They fired Americans. Then filed for 500,000 foreign workers. Now the Senate wants receipts? Yeah, not really. Senators Grassley and Durbin just sent letters to 8 serial H-1B'ers and 2 of the largest outsourcing firms, demanding they hand over their full H-1B data. How many visa workers, what they're being paid, and whether they're replacing domestic employees. The deadline? October 10. Six months from now. This is the hottest labor issue in the country right now. Americans are getting laid off in waves while these same companies keep the H-1B pipeline running full speed. And the best Congress can do is send a letter and give them half a year to craft a response? Give us a break.

Congress has the full power to stop this. It can regulate interstate commerce. Moving your wealth across state lines should not be a taxable event. That’s against the spirit of the United States.
KOMO News@komonews

Across the country, at least ten states, including Washington, are now exploring or have already passed an exit or wealth tax to combat revenue losses from residents fleeing to lower tax areas komonews.com/news/nation-wo…

we demand assimilation because that is the only way to justify immigration. no culture would welcome millions of migrants determined — openly — to change their country. we will soon hear arguments in favor of total immigration moratoriums, and men like this will be responsible.
Shadi Hamid@shadihamid

Should a minority community's right to be in America depend on their willingness to converge with the cultural mainstream? No, it shouldn't depend on that. It shouldn't depend on anything. We're all Americans, after all.

I Make $30,000 a Month On YouTube Shorts alone 🤑 Still kind of blows my mind tbh. Is the creator economy the new American Dream? Would you quit your 9-5 for this? 👀

@shadihamid @washingtonpost Raises the question, if immigrant groups want to retain their native culture rather than assimilate, why immigrate in the first place?

Who should I contact in Florida if I caught a doctor over-billing my 86 y/o dad? It looks like they are billing insurance (as they should), but then billing my dad the full amount of the service without the insurance adjustment - they're double dipping. How many senior citizens get scammed like this?
