The difference isn’t “punching happened.” The difference is context. Teddy Roosevelt was personally sparring for exercise/training inside the White House, not staging a corporate combat-sports event with an octagon, cameras, invited crowd, entertainment production, and political branding.

@SGeoFX @joeroganhq So none were official prize fights so that’s different?
People punching each other just like last night. Not worthy of the clown accusations.

Honestly, both sides have used the White House lawn for political theater. Biden doing Pride events there doesn’t automatically make a UFC event classy, and Trump doing UFC doesn’t erase how weird some of Biden’s events looked. The real issue is whether the White House should be treated like a national symbol or like a stage for culture-war performances.

Fuck each and every one of you absolute douchebags who celebrate this fucking nonsense. Our country sucks.

🚨OMG. A fighter just declared “Michelle Obama is a man” on the White House lawn as Joe Rogan chuckles. Tonight is a DISGRACE to our country, not a celebration.

@ModerateInSEA @joeroganhq Your such a clown; Teddy Roosevelt didn’t host official prize fights at the White House. TR did regularly boxing and sparing, it’s called personal training. Not a whole circus a the White House.

The only way to save Bungie is to support Marathon!
This was stated by former Bungie community manager Liana Ruppert. She urged players to stop attacking the new shooter and not to compare its numbers with Destiny 2, since the projects are aimed at different audiences.
Ruppert also noted that the studio’s financial problems began even before the deal with Sony. Without the sale, Bungie could have shut down or completely ended support for Destiny, so the acquisition effectively saved the developers.
Now, in her opinion, the studio’s future depends on Marathon’s results. If the game succeeds, Bungie will be able to keep its team and continue working on its own projects and potentially return to the idea of a full Destiny 3 in the future.
If it fails, Bungie could lose its independence for good and become a support team for other PlayStation studios.

This movie sucked. I understand suspension of disbelief but the amount of instances where I audibly said "No fucking way" was staggering. Steven Spielberg really needs to retire with this one.

Former Bungie community manager Liana Ruppert discussed criticism of Marathon and comparisons to Destiny 2.
She said supporting Marathon is “the only path forward right now” for fans wanting future projects, including a possible Destiny 3.
She said people are “comparing apples to oranges” when using Destiny 2’s player numbers to judge Marathon, as it is an extraction shooter for a smaller audience, similar to Escape from Tarkov.
Destiny players are mad and said they don't want to buy or play a game just to support Bungie.

Disclosure Day is a welcome return to the things that Spielberg does best. But for all the good questions the movie asks, can the answers be as compelling?
