@PTI_News 3 language formula is in place in Northern states (UP, MP, Bihar & Rajasthan) for last 60 years. What these states have achieved with respect to a state with 2 language formula ? Atleast one benefit?

CRYSTAL CLEAR PROOF 👇👇👇👇👇 NEP 2020 promotes Sanskrit. It leads to Imposition of Hindi. 👆👆👆👆👆 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 We request thinkers of other regional languages also to react. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Union Minister Piyush Goyal has reacted to TN CM's strong protest against '3 language formula'. He has said "I challenge MK Stalin show me one place where in NEP, we've said Hindi is compulsory." This article proves that in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Hindi and Sanskrit are given strategic priority compared to other regional languages. 👇👇👇👇👇 1. Entire Dedicated Paragraph Praising Sanskrit (Paragraph 4.17) -------------------- The policy devotes a long, detailed paragraph exclusively to Sanskrit. The NEP 2020 singles out Sanskrit as a language that will be mainstreamed across all levels of education. It calls Sanskrit as an important modern language in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. A classical language with literature greater in volume than that of Latin and Greek combined. Containing "vast treasures" of knowledge in mathematics, philosophy, grammar, music, politics, medicine, architecture, metallurgy, drama, poetry, storytelling, etc. (called "Sanskrit Knowledge Systems"). It explicitly states: "Sanskrit will thus be offered at all levels of school and higher education as an important, enriching option for students, including as an option in the three-language formula." The policy proposes that Sanskrit Universities will move towards becoming multi-disciplinary institutions, broadening their scope and influence. 👇👇👇👇👇 2. Other classical languages mentioned for namesake only ------------------- Other classical languages (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, etc.) are covered in just one short paragraph (4.18) with much milder language: Other classical languages are acknowledged for their "rich literature," but the policy only says they "must be preserved" and "will also be widely available... possibly as online modules." There is no equivalent detailed praise, no comparison to Latin/Greek, and no strong recommendation to offer them at "all levels" like Sanskrit. NEP recommends teaching Sanskrit in interesting, experiential ways, including through Simple Standard Sanskrit (SSS) textbooks and "Sanskrit through Sanskrit" (STS) method. In higher education (Paragraph 22.15), it states that "Sanskrit will become a natural part of a holistic multidisciplinary higher education" if a student chooses it. No other language is given such priority. 👇👇👇👇👇 3. The Three-Language Formula and Hindi ------------------ While the NEP states just for name sake that "no language will be imposed on any State," the practical implementation of the Three-Language Formula often favors Hindi in non-Hindi speaking states. The Hindi Belt Influence: In Hindi-speaking states, students often choose Hindi, English, and one other Indian language (often Sanskrit). However, in non-Hindi speaking states, the "second" or "third" Indian language choice frequently defaults to Hindi due to the availability of teachers and resources, compared to the scarcity of resources for other regional languages (like Tamil or Kannada) in North India. 👇👇👇👇👇 4. Sanskrit gains functional importance ------------------ The NEP places a heavy emphasis on teaching the "traditional knowledge of India." Since a vast majority of ancient Indian scientific, philosophical, and medical texts are written in Sanskrit, the language becomes the primary vehicle for this curriculum. By making IKS a part of the mainstream curriculum, Sanskrit gains a functional importance that other regional languages (which may have their own distinct folk traditions) do not receive to the same degree in the national framework. 👇👇👇👇👇 5. Resource Allocation and National Institutions -------------------- The policy mentions the strengthening of Sanskrit institutions and the use of Sanskrit to teach other subjects. While the policy proposes an Indian Institute of Translation and Interpretation (IITI) for many languages, the reality is that the historical budgetary allocation by the Central Government has significantly favored Hindi and Sanskrit over the "Scheduled Languages" (the 22 languages in the 8th Schedule). 👇👇👇👇👇 6. Document Tone and Cultural Framing ---------------------- The NEP document frequently uses Sanskrit-derived words (e.g., Jnan for knowledge, Pragyaa for wisdom, Satya for truth) even in its English text. It strongly links education to "ancient Indian knowledge", which is heavily tied to Sanskrit traditions. 👇👇👇👇👇 6. Indirect Imposition of Hindi --------------- Although the policy repeatedly says "no language will be imposed" and gives flexibility to states and students, the structure benefits Hindi. Hindi-speaking states can meet the "two native Indian languages" requirement easily with Hindi + Sanskrit. Non-Hindi states already teach their regional language + English. Adding a third language often means Hindi or Sanskrit, creating an unequal burden. The overall emphasis on "native Indian languages" in a national policy is often interpreted as indirectly promoting Hindi as a link language. 👇👇👇👇👇 Summary of the Bias 1. Sanskrit receives far more rhetorical weight, detailed promotion, and concrete implementation plans. 2. The three-language formula, combined with the above, makes it easier for Hindi/Sanskrit to dominate in practice. 3. This creates a practical tilt toward a Sanskrit-Hindi centric view of Indian culture and education. 4. The other classical and regional languages are just treated as secondary options. 5. The depth, length, and enthusiasm of the language used for Sanskrit is noticeably greater than for others. 6. The structure benefits Hindi and facilitates indirect Imposition of Hindi. ------------- NEP link education.gov.in/sites/upload_f… 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 We request thinkers to record valid arguments. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 #hindi #hindiimposition #impositionofhindi #languages #classicallanguages #twolanguages #threelanguages

Publishing fake, inauthentic & unverified information is basically the DMK IT Wing’s full-time job. The Gopalapuram family-run news channel is behaving like an extension of that IT wing. Get your facts right, @sunnewstamil. Irony is that the family of the MP Thiru Kalanidhi Veersamy avl who raised this question, runs a school in Chennai where Tamil is not even a compulsory language but is a language of choice.

Stalin has reacted negatively to the CBSE's proposed three-language framework, calling it a "calculated and deeply concerning attempt at linguistic imposition." "Under the guise of promoting “Indian languages,” the BJP-led NDA government is aggressively advancing a centralising agenda that privileges Hindi while systematically marginalising India’s rich and diverse linguistic heritage," he posted on X on April 4. He alleged that the three-language formula under the NEP is a "covert mechanism" to impose Hindi on non-Hindi speaking regions. Alleging that students in southern states would have to compulsorily learn Hindi under the new language policy, Stalin asked whether students in Hindi-speaking states would learn Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali or Marathi. #MKStalin #CBSE #ThreeLanguageFormula #NEP2020 #HindiImposition #TamilNadu

Hon. Minister @dpradhanbjp ji Anyone with a pea sized brain will know that hindi imposition will not be accepted by admk and dmk(The only parties which have chances to win assembly elections in TN).Don't know who is giving these ideas to create ruckus that too close to election
Dharmendra Pradhan@dpradhanbjp

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru @mkstalin ji, your narrative of “imposition” is a tired attempt to mask political failures. The National Education Policy 2020 is, in fact, a manifesto for linguistic liberation. It prioritises the mother tongue so every Tamil child can excel in their own glorious language. By misrepresenting a flexible policy as “compulsory Hindi”, you are not defending Tamil; you are creating barriers that deny our youth the opportunity to become multilingual global leaders. Portraying multilingualism as a threat is misplaced. Tamil is not weakened by the learning of additional languages; it is enriched when its speakers are multilingual, confident and linguistically empowered. NEP upholds constitutional principles by promoting all languages equally and also addresses the limitations of the existing two-language system. It further focuses on implementation through initiatives such as Samagra Shiksha, teacher training, and strengthening institutions, like DIETs, along with national frameworks, such as NPST and NMM. Your questions on “reciprocity” ignore ground reality. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, Tamil has been celebrated as a national treasure—from the Kashi Tamil Sangamam to the global stage. While the Union Government actively encourages students across India to embrace Indian languages, your government continues to deprive Tamil students of diverse opportunities for the sake of a divisive vote bank narrative. The talk of resources is merely a façade. It is the DMK government that has stalled the establishment of PM SHRI schools in Tamil Nadu by refusing to sign the MoU after giving an undertaking for the same. Despite the directions of the Supreme Court of India to establish Navodaya Vidyalayas in Tamil Nadu, your government continues to obstruct their implementation, prioritising political narratives over educational equity. This deliberate resistance is not merely administrative defiance; it is a direct disservice to lakhs of underprivileged students who stand to benefit from quality, merit-based residential education. This has effectively withheld modern infrastructure and teachers from its own students. The Union Government remains fully committed to funding and teacher training but progress is being held back by your “dishonest” politics. Mischaracterising a progressive, inclusive reform as ‘linguistic imposition’ is aimed at creating unnecessary apprehension and confusion. The real concern, perhaps, is not the policy’s clarity, but the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s unwillingness to acknowledge it. In doing so, he disregards the constitutional spirit that safeguards India’s linguistic diversity. Stop using the “Hindi imposition” argument to hide administrative failures and join the national mission of empowering every Indian language.

Over many decades, anti- Brahmin approach has got diluted by DMK. It served the purpose and the power shift is complete. Brahmin's anti-DMK stand is keeping them away from power than DMKs anti-Brahmin stand. If Brahmins accept DMK also as a choice, they can get their fair share in power over the period. I am afraid, if you people can play your cards rightly, you can regain many lost privileges through the same Dravidian eco system.

@whiteuhearttu Optional schemes ≠ structured school learning. Not every student has access or continuity outside school. If that logic holds, why teach English in school at all? Education should ensure equal opportunity, not depend on optional programs.

@whiteuhearttu “No study” doesn’t mean “no benefit.” By that logic, we’d stop teaching many skills. Multilingualism clearly improves mobility, employability, and cognitive ability. Where’s the study that says limiting to 2 languages is better? They want students in TN to not go outside of TN..
