@JimmySecUK Agree, we should leave and make it clear the U.S. will not protect Europe nor European interests. Withdraw our nuclear umbrella over Europe, 5 eyes etc. Normalize relations with Russia and make it clear they have a free hand and we will not interfere.

Falklands just one of a dozen+ examples of why the RN needs a robust fleet of SSNs with high operational availability. SSNs are great tools for deterring Argentina from doing anything stupid. Or, if that fails, using hard power to force Argentina to back down since RN SSNs

All of FVEY and NATO should stand with the UK on the Falklands issue. Not threats to directly intervene militarily in defense of the Falklands, but diplomatic and political support. The message needs to be sent that Argentina that the West is behind the UK on this.

The Falkland Islands were first discovered by England in 1592. Britain first claimed the islands in 1765, before Argentina was even an independent nation. We returned in 1833 to reclaim what was rightfully ours. The Falklands will always be British. 🇬🇧🇫🇰

1) the Falklands were originally illegally seized from Argentina in 1833. BUT they have been British ever since. 2) throughout the 1960s and 70s, Argentina negotiated in good faith to trade ownership. They offered concessions, such as “Falklanders won’t have to serve in rhe army.” The British teams all recommended the transfer. Each UK government punted it to the next. Was Argentina right to invade? Of course not. The Falklanders’ opinion should be taken into account! Plus the major reason for the attack was because the junta was looking for distractions. But I can’t help but think that it would be cheapest for Argentina to pay each Falklander a million dollars (costing about 3.5 billion) to move away.

@MerloDieg As an American, I support Argentina. The European powers must be ejected from our shared Hemisphere. Our home. South America is ascendant while Europe is in decline. The UK is not a global power anymore by choice. They will never hold overseas possessions. Bermuda is next.
