Mike Westhoff is stepping away from the Broncos due to potential health reasons, but the good news is it appears he’s going to be okay, per source.
The decision to step away was to take care of himself at 76 years old.
He believes the Broncos are in good hands with Ben Kotwica and Chris Banjo.

Westhoff, 76, experienced problems related to his vision last week and underwent testing Monday, including an MRI. After consulting with doctors and several positive conversations with Sean Payton, Westhoff made the difficult decision to head home to Florida. “It’s not easy to make this decision, but this was a wake-up call that I needed to put my health first,” Westhoff said. “This team is very much headed in the right direction with a strong foundation and a winning culture. I’m grateful to Sean for giving me the opportunity to contribute to a first-class organization and wish the Broncos the very best.”

This was such a perfectly executed special teams sequence, one of the best from any team last season. There isn’t a single Denver unit that could pull this off the past decade. Amazing job from Mike Westhoff, Ben Kotwica and Sean Payton keeping them aware in practice for any situations like this.

In a back and forth game with the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Colts just took the lead 24-21 with 2 and half minutes to play. On the ensuing kickoff Justin Miller took it 103 yards for the TD to give the @nyjets a 28-24 lead. (Unfortunately they left Peyton too much time)
