@Joeinblack @WalkingHymnal So true, I had a Priest who would sometimes say at the end, "if you remember something later that you forgot to tell me, it is forgiven".

As a young man, i had four different priest who asked me about sexual sins when I didn’t mention any. Every one of them was removed from ministry or did time for sexual misconduct. Every. Single. One. I would gently suggest that priests stop insisting that Catholics do confession perfectly and trust that Jesus did everything perfect that needs to be done. The human need to control people and limit God are at core the problem here.

@CodifyBaseball Baseball players are less recognizable than basketball players. I've seen on the street Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Walton, Patrick Ewing, Dennis Rodman, Horace Grant, etc. but the only baseball player I've recognized is Steve Garvey, twice, because he really is handsome.

CARDINALS WIN. 11-8. Guys. 11-8 THREE GAMES OVER .500. This isn’t just something to joke about. This is serious. How good is this offense? Just so much fun. They don’t disappoint. They battle. They fight. They don’t care that you think they’re going to suck. I LOVE THIS TEAM. Three games over .500 is going to make me cry. Play Free Bird. Birds! #shocktheworld #STLCards

@Jsudds44 Salmon last season was 2005 or 2006. So he is probably correct.

I’m so tired of old baseball players trying to argue that velocities aren’t going up both as a league and the top players. Do they think rookie Verlander threw 108? Or Randy Johnson would have thrown 108 today? Aroldis is the most freakish athlete to throw a ball and was 105.9.
HaloTerritory@HaloTerritory

"When you're seeing velocities at 95 [MPH] today, those aren't velocities at 95 we saw." Tim Salmon talks about the difference in how velocity is tracked, and how it may be misleading when comparing eras.

@Outkick I have watched a lot of summer baseball in a bunch of different venues and have never seen anything even close to this. It is so over the top as to seem staged, especially with a camera man running the bases. I think someone is having a little fun at our expense😂. .

@nut_history If you take a little time to practice getting used to it most above average athletes can hit 95 from a machine, but off a live pitcher with any kind of movement it gets very very difficult. And up over 100 even making contact off a machine is very hard.

Out of hundred of 95MPH fastballs how many do you think you could hit? Probably zero for me.

@ccmembersonly Missouri isn’t flat, at least the ozarks and central Missouri isn’t.

The short answer is yes, except in southern Missouri we do have the Ozarks so it isn't flat down there. A Missourian's feet are planted firmly in the Midwest, while what's between the ears is Southern. If you don't like the weather it will change in 15 minutes. If you have to leave on a trip that you don't want to take, where you live in Missouri will have the absolute best weather of the year while you're gone, only to become extremely cold, or hot and humid upon your return.

@ccmembersonly As others said, it’s always been a mix of both but was historically associated with the Midwest primarily because STL and KC dominate the state’s culture and economy. Only after Mizzou’s move to the SEC and the general “southernization” of rural America did perceptions change.

@ccmembersonly South of the Missouri River is the South, north is the Midwest. It's cold in the winter and hot in the summer. It's definitely not flat. Ozarks in the south, rolling hills in the north.
