Nobody is attacking the fans. All that's happening is that whiny fans are attacking a director for adding an original story to the franchise with his own artistic vision instead of adapting stories that have been told too many times in the games into live action in a worse form.

@b00tyclapper420 @waythisis And I'd be a fuckin fool to judge a film that's not even out over a script that was potentially written prior to getting the RE greenlight. Especially when Cregger has mentioned that they fully leaned into RE after getting the IP. He wrote it with the intention being RE.
