@jnacc1 @delratz @Calgaryman1 @BCHL_Alberta So they can't play in a Hockey Canada league if the transfer fee isn't paid? When that gets to court the leagues will lose.
English

@delratz @Calgaryman1 @BCHL_Alberta Transfer fees and movements are agreed to by respective governing bodies such as Hockey Canada nd USA Hockey. They are implemented to compensate various teams for losing players and or "raiding" players from one league by another. Fees are set before and after the season....

@cfl_reddit Western had one hell of an exciting playoff run that year. en.usports.ca/vaniercup/1994…

@CFPerspective @ConnorRONeil @Wadezanc You guys doubled down on that Ethan Jordan incompletion being the wrong call on the podcast. 1:41 left in the 2nd quarter? That was not a catch.

@hockeyesque @MisterTommyGee1 I think the alternative was Gilligan's Island so "New Girl Now" wasn't bad. Video Hits played "Mimi on the Beach" and some other less commercial songs.

man, i hated this show. nothin on there reflected the true momentum and power of new music in canada. it was all packaged record company approved crap. all soft edges. no burn.

Throwback to October 1, 1984 40 years ago, the Canadian music video series Video Hits premiered on @CBC Television. Hosted by Samantha Taylor, from a fantastic leather chair, wearing Le Château. ❤️🎶🇨🇦 K.

@rwrandall @hockeyesque Friday Night Videos started in the summer of '83 and bumped SCTV to cable. Good Rockin Tonite began soon after.

@hockeyesque NBC's Friday Night Videos premiered in the summer of 1984. CBC countered with Video Hits and Good Rockin' Tonight out of the west coast in October of that year. Content was shallow but necessary to hold the floodgates on US content.
English

@themaggPi @hockeyesque Wasn't Mr. Bidini 21 when Video Hits began? Of course it was a kids show, it was on after school before adults got home from work.
English

@Lord_Bob They're not going to send Canada home. They'd have to refund tickets and once the IOC and FIFA have their hands on that money they'll never give it up. Giving NZ the points would have been fairer. And a 2 point deduction so the athletes still have a sliver of a chance.

I'm going to keep saying it, the advantage you get from spying on every practice in a tournament is less than that from one dive in the penalty area. It is certainly much, much less than two wins. But a drone is novel cheating, while diving is cheating the TV tells us to accept.
Devin Heroux@Devin_Heroux
JUST NOW FIFA ruling just in on drone scandal. Canada deducted six points at Olympics. Fined CHF 200,000. Priestman, Lombardi and Mander suspended from any football related activity for a year. Full FIFA STATEMENT

@NKB121 @travisyost Ottawa would have signed Zibanejad to a bridge deal that summer and then he'd be gone in a few seasons, like Stone.
English

@travisyost I definitely thought he had untapped upside but I have to admit I did *not* see him popping to the extent that he did. Obviously not a good trade from a long-term team building perspective but LOOK AT THOSE SAVINGS, TRAVIS!
English

Honestly do not think this is a reach.
The Zibanejad trade was that bad IMO. Just a totally unforced error and miseval.

@travisyost One of the worst trades in Sens history.

@LeelooMinai9 @dinnerwithjulie @srlevesque The price of all dairy products in Canada are high because of the supply management laws.
English

@dinnerwithjulie @srlevesque Same over here (Germany).
I know that a lot of facilities do that because they produce for different shops/discounters. Strange thing anyway.
But that aside … butter is THAT expensive where you live?
In Germany it is $1.40 to $3.00. In a super expensive shop it is $4.00.
