@MimiDigital Yes. There are some newer/refurbished Kroger stores but I go to Kroger mainly because it's cheaper across the board plus gas discounts at fuel center. Publix for fried chicken, subs, and bakery.

Because Kroger can be disgustingly drab and shopping is a pleasure at Publix. Some of us actually enjoy overhead lighting and carts with 4 wheels. Kroger be having that private selection fluorescent yellow ambiance+a general vibe of despair in the air so noโฆIโd rather not ๐๐ซธ๐ฝ

Publix keeps snatching up property across the street from Kroger, which is so funny to me. Publix has a nice deli and bakery. Beyond that, it's like, 30-40% more expensive than Kroger. No clue why you'd prefer Publix over a Kroger.

Six previous times a minority was hired as GM for a team where they reported to a higher executive and the league awarded the picks (see below). Now, they deny the picks.

The #Bears have been lobbying for draft pick compensation following the hire of Ian Cunningham as #Falcons GM. Today, the NFL responded stating there will be no picks coming: โThe matter is now closed following the clubโs appeal. The NFL informed the Bears today they will not receive compensatory picks. The policy is designed to provide picks for the Primary Football Executive position. The League determined Mr. Cunningham did not fill that role with the Falcons as it is defined in League rules.โ

I have dealt with the Top 3 largest food distributors in America; Sysco, US Foods, and Performance Foods.
I was most definitely not a โMom & Pop.โ I owned a mid-sized food manufacturing/distribution company that I sold in 2024.
And Mark isnโt wrong. This is what US Foods and Sysco have done for years. They buy up Mom & Pop to create a monopoly on goods. Capitalism at its core. Thatโs why a burger from 7 different chains tastes the sameโall procured from the same distributor.

This isnโt a small deal. Restaurant Depot is where most mom & pop restaurants go to buy inventory because Sysco is so expensive. Restaurant Depot was privately owned. Sysco is owned byโฆ you guessed it, BlackRock & Vanguard. Now private equity can control pricing for food costs with zero competition. Just like they did with housing. This should be an anti-trust violation, but we have politicians that work for Big Corp, not us.

@Mike_Haracz While Sysco does sell premade/frozen products that some places reheat and serve, Sysco also provides raw meat, fish, etc., vegetables, fruits, seasonings, and more that restaurants can use to create scratch dishes. It's mostly an Instacart grocery store for restaurants.
