My brother in Christ 😂, comma and structural verse changes don’t matter to me, but the adding, changing, and removing of literal WORDS do matter. You don’t have to agree with me, but you can’t say that changing, adding, or removing words is just “punctuation and semantics”, cuz it’s CLEARLY not…

It’s crazy how many edits the LDS church has made to the Book of Mormon. The 1830 edition compared to the 2013(current) edition is so different. The LDS church has totally unauthenticated the “keystone” of their religion.

Good sir, I'm not moving the goalposts or dodging. My question remains straightforward: Joseph called the Book of Mormon 'the most correct book on earth,' translated 'by the gift and power of God.' Yet it has thousands of post-publication changes. If it was divinely translated, I'm sure any chiasmus (or other literary features) is being used by God for a reason. But that doesn't explain or resolve why a divine translation needed corrections afterward. Those are separate issues: one about authorship style, the other about the reliability of the final text.

I disagree strongly with those who argue Joseph Smith was not a polygamist. The historical evidence is too strong imo. But I don't think having wrong opinions is alone grounds for losing your membership in the church. (Also, we don't call it excommunication anymore.)

The church should excommunicate anyone who teaches at the polygamy conference that Joseph did not practice polygamy along with anyone who publicly teaches it online. Plural marriage is still a doctrine in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints even if it is an exception and not the rule in matters of marital practice. I make no apologies.

Those examples have nothing to do with what we’re talking about? Moses failing to enter the Promised Land, Peter sinking, or Jesus being betrayed by Judas are about personal human failings or betrayal. We’re talking about a book Joseph called 'the most correct book on earth,' translated 'by the gift and power of God', yet it still needed thousands of changes after publication? If the translation was truly divine, why the post-publication edits at all? That's the actual question. You’re just moving the goalpost at this point.
