@phil_denton @RealPostFolder Uber Eats drivers can’t rate customers, but I agree they should be allowed to. It would help drivers determine whether they should take an order.

@undeadthing78 @Michaelfiore Then you haven’t read the thread, which is clearly about controlling an aphid infestation on a tree. I’m done arguing with some random stranger. I’m just giving professional advice. Folks can take it or leave it. Doesn’t bother me if you waste money on buying adult ladybugs.

Yeah, don’t do this. I quit selling ladybugs years ago for several reasons: 1) Ladybugs are not farm-raised like other beneficial bugs are. They are wild collected. People go out with scoops and shop vacs in the mountains of California when ladybugs are hibernating en masse and gather them up. They then refrigerate them and package them for selling. This means that the ladybugs you buy are not native to your area and will wake up very disoriented, which leads to my next point- 2) They leave (fly away) as soon as you release them. Not only are they confused upon release, but they’re also territorial. If you release 1,500 of them you’ll be lucky if even a few of them stick around. You’re basically just paying to relocate ladybugs from California to your state. Instead of buying ladybugs, you can attract native ladybugs to your yard by planting native plants and other pollinator friendly plants around your property. Also, make sure you aren’t using insecticides in the garden. If you want to purchase and release a beneficial insect in your garden, green lacewings are a much better alternative.

I know for a fact that aphids are attacking my neighbor's tree. Would it be weird if I got her an order of live ladybugs? Like...I feel like she'd be happy. But it's also strange to purchase bugs for people.

@undeadthing78 @Michaelfiore You do not use adult ladybugs or lacewings to control an infestation. I guess that’s the point I’m trying to make. We can mince words, but I’ve got 4 years of greenhouse experience controlling infestations with organics and predatory insects—with thousands spent on them.

@undeadthing78 @Michaelfiore This is kind of true. Adults overwhelmingly prefer nectar and plants. They’re propensity to eat aphids as adults is likely due to a lack of the other food sources. Overwhelmingly they do not eat aphids in enough quantity as larvae. And they certainly won’t control an infestation

@Michaelfiore milkweed is exceptionally good at attracting ladybugs, but that’s also because they attract colonies of aphids. Lady bug will lay their eggs on the underside of their leaves (last pic). Check an infested leave for ladybug eggs underneath. Let them hatch and you’ll have larvae!

@Michaelfiore Ladybug larvae are actually what eat aphids. Same with green lacewings; it’s the larvae that eat aphids, not the adults. Planting beneficials is a good strategy for attracting future colonies. Marigolds and dill weed are a couple of examples of beneficials that attract ladybugs.

@SkyTheViking Once the infestation is under control, then you release predatory bugs on a recurring schedule to have a preventative colony. Otherwise you’re gonna see little results. How do I know: 4 years greenhouse growing experience. Thousands spent on predatory insects.

@SkyTheViking This is because predatory insects need to be introduced as a preventative, not a control mechanism. Predatory insects are rarely able to contain an existing infestation. For that, you need to look into something like neem oil or Azamax.

Controversial social media influencer Lilly Contino faced restaurant drama today while streaming. The people she sat next to didn't want to be filmed. The server asked her to change her camera angle. Lilly changes the camera to an angle where shes filming people on the other side of the table, to putting it back to the original camera angle, to then putting an emoji sticker on a few faces at the table. Lilly calls them Karens after putting an emoji sticker on them, and states the will eventually go to the manager and complain (they never did) Lilly has made no changes in her content despite stating that she would. Lilly then leaves after playing the victim card, and stating that the whole table is mean to her. When she leaves, she goes to film the entire table.

@RafaelAnchia Rafael didn't lift a finger when Texas banned smokable hemp and drove one of the biggest manufacturers of hemp cigarettes out of his district and to Oklahoma. This is despite multiple hemp industry advocates reaching out to his office. Total failure.

A friend can't sell their 3500 sq ft home in Frisco for $875k to break even. Neither can they rent it out without losing around $1500 per month. I warned him. He did not listen. Welcome to post-covid real estate. Fortunately, they have enough wealth to absorb this.

@ChandlerForPB As a 15-year straight party voter who is under 50, I can assure you that the GOP has hit the wall well before this. For me, it was when almost every republican voted to ban hemp and criminalize my business. I will not vote Republican likely ever again.

The consultants clearly don’t understand the shift that’s happening in the GOP right now. Boomers think voting is their civic duty. They will go vote for whoever the Republican nominee is. Under 50 voters are fed up as much as they can be. Many Republicans under 50 will just not vote if Cornyn is endorsed. And not just in Texas by the way. There are some swing House districts that can’t afford 500 younger Republicans to stay home. Endorsing Cornyn will be a major blow to morale and will be felt in the midterms.

I wish I could understand this guys political career. By every account he was a beast of a war fighter who loved his country. But when he got into office he just didn’t seem to ever care about what the people he represented actually wanted.

@jlippincott_ Those “savings” will never make it to consumers. Instead it will be passed through to shareholders. Just like building all the solar panels and wind turbines didn’t reduce electricity costs.

I am going to keep saying this until I am blue in the face: The only way AI can "take jobs" is if the technology is more efficient than human labor. If it is then that means lower production costs and therefore lower prices and higher savings. Those savings will get converted into new lines of production and more jobs, higher wages, and a better standard of living for everyone. The industrial revolution resulted in untold prosperity compared to what came before. IF (!!!) AI can deliver on its promises we could be in for major economic growth. That would be good!
Bark@barkmeta

Genuine question… if AI takes all the jobs and everything keeps getting more expensive, what’s the plan for regular people?

The Bolsheviks, Marxists, and Jihadists are 💯 committed to winning in the midterms, impeaching him, imprisoning him, and his supporters. Their crown jewel is turning Texas, and they are making huge headway. Democrats know if they win Tarrant County, they'll take Texas. Democrats are putting tens of millions in outside money. President Trump feels it is so important that he is headed to South Texas, but @realDonaldTrump needs to also go to Tarrant County! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
