Pap smear is a simple test used to screen for cervical cancer in women. In Sri Lanka, women over 35 years can get a free Pap smear at the Well Woman Clinic in their MOH area. Yet, despite being free, only about 18% of eligible women actually go for the test... Showing how much more awareness & encouragement are needed.
Marianne David@MarianneDavid24

Consulted Dr Diluk Senadheera yesterday (thanks to @dick0li rec) & learned that women should do pap smear at 35, again at 45. When I wanted to get one done before 40, I was told no need 👀 Finally did one yesterday, costs 10k at Lanka Hospital. 🔴PSA: Free at Family Health Bureau

When a key promoter of a cooking show goes by the handle @PhuckYou, it raises a fair question about judgement. Is this really the tone #MasterChef wants associated with its brand? Professionalism matters -- especially in the public eye. 👩‍🍳🍴😠

@erangatennakoon Driving might seem easy but when it's a full time job, it's not. You wouldn't want to drive to a site, work, and drive back. Especially if it involves multiple stops throughout the route. That's their rest time.

CEB maintenance is happening the whole day. While crews work hard, drivers just sit in the vehicle scrolling through Facebook or sleeping. Genuine question, why not train drivers with additional technical skills so they can support the work too? Feels like a missed efficiency opportunity. #lka #SriLanka

The US created their own worst nightmare that is Huawei. Without sanctions, Huawei would've just been a telecommunications technology company and a fabless semiconductor company. But after the sanctions, Huawei is now: 🔹A semiconductor manufacturing solutions provider. 🔹A fabless semiconductor company. 🔹A parent company to several semiconductor equipment makers. 🔹A telecommunications tech network infrastructure company. 🔹A software company, with an entire ecosystem of software, digital infrastructure and SaaS. 🔹An AI company. 🔹A car company. 🔹A consumer electronics company. 🔹A Green technology company.

we are overstimulated and we don’t even notice. netflix while eating. reels in the bathroom. music while cooking. podcasts on walks. we consume by default, not by intention. you keep filling every gap, then wonder why you feel foggy and unmotivated. boredom and silence are the real growth drivers. they give you space to think and create. that’s when solutions show up for problems that have been stuck for months. leave some room

Hey @Gwynne_Shotwell, @Starlink, @elonmusk I am writing as a Sri Lankan customer and technology professional to formally express serious concern regarding reports of a potential collaboration between @Starlink and @dialoglk in Sri Lanka. Starlink has entered the Sri Lankan market with immense goodwill, hope, and trust-primarily because it represents a clear alternative to the long-standing issues faced with existing local internet service providers. Among them, Dialog Axiata is widely perceived by customers as one of the poorest-performing providers in terms of service quality, transparency, and customer respect. For many years, Sri Lankan customers have experienced: - Inconsistent speeds and unreliable connectivity despite premium pricing - Aggressive data caps and unclear fair-usage policies - Poor customer support with minimal accountability - A strong perception that profit is prioritized over service quality or customer experience Starlink’s reputation, on the other hand, is built on technological excellence, independence, transparency, and putting capability before bureaucracy. This is precisely why customers are excited and why there is deep concern about any form of dependency or operational partnership with a local ISP whose reputation fundamentally conflicts with Starlink’s values. A collaboration with Dialog Axiata risks: - Diluting Starlink’s brand perception in Sri Lanka - Reintroducing the same operational inefficiencies customers are actively trying to escape - Undermining customer trust at the very moment Starlink is gaining strong organic support - Creating the impression that Starlink services may eventually inherit local ISP limitations, controls, or commercial behaviors Many customers are choosing Starlink specifically to move away from Dialog Axiata and similar providers not to encounter them again under a different name. Sri Lanka is a market where Starlink can succeed independently. Customers are ready to pay for quality, fairness, and reliability. Any partnership that compromises operational independence or customer trust would be deeply disappointing to a large segment of early adopters and supporters. I strongly urge Starlink to carefully consider the long-term reputational impact of any such collaboration. Maintaining independence from poorly perceived local providers will protect your brand, preserve customer trust, and ensure sustainable success in Sri Lanka.

Samsung Launches Samsung Internet Browser for PC and Windows Systems! With its rich customization options and robust private browsing mode, Samsung Internet has long been one of the most popular mobile browsers. Now, Samsung has announced its return to the PC platform after 13 years, with a version designed to run on Windows. Samsung plans to roll out a beta version of the browser first, available starting today for users in South Korea and the U.S., followed by other countries and regions later. After the beta phase, the browser is expected to be officially listed on the Microsoft Store. It also supports devices with ARM processors, including Samsung Internet PCs, as well as Windows 11 and Windows 10 (version 1809 or later).

Did surgery on a patient. Every time we go to check on him,we find many visitors crowding the bed. Pls remember: Hospitals are not hotels! There’s no need to“mark attendance”by visiting pts. Too many visitors not only bring in germs but also get in the way of proper medical care!
