A scenario over the next 4 to 10 weeks that remains possible: The Islamic regime loses control of its oil infrastructure. The Islamic regime loses control of the Strait of Hormuz. The Islamic regime loses the ability to produce ballistic missiles. The Islamic regime loses access to its uranium. It may sound crazy, but I assess that most, if not all, of these objectives could be achieved. Will circle back to this post.

@minhagim Well, sometimes you use more lids than pans for a secure fit (or double the pans for extra heavy items). Either way, these items are best bought in bulk, when on sale ends up costing a small fraction of the 2-3 count (you get 100 pans for the cost of ~30).

With cancer, we never stop chemo just to spare healthy cells. We know stopping means certain death. Chemo only ends when it’s failing, and we shift to hospice. Flip the script: If Iran preemptively closed the Straits and oil prices kept rising daily, "surrender to save the economy" wouldn't be an option. The response needed to stop them would carry even higher risks of killing healthy cells. Whatever we would do then is exactly what we must do now.

@KosherChutzpah @Osint613 Nothing you wrote changes the fact that your metaphor isn’t accurate. Global rise in gas prices and a shortage that lasts years isn’t a corollary to chemo killing healthy cells. Not saying we shouldn’t do it for that reason, just disagreeing with the metaphor.

Cancer doesn't suffer fools. Iran has been building hundreds of drones every day for a while. Those drones are powerful versions of low-tech consumer ones that cost only a few thousand dollars each and can be built in underground warehouses. The threat is no longer just a nuclear warhead. Just imagine in 5 years from now when Iran has enough guerilla warfare to overwhelm any defense system. Every obstacle preventing the job being finished - whether the Straits of Hormuz impacting the global economy, neighboring bases being hit, iron dome supply diminishing - will only be more difficult, if not impossible, to stop down the road. No war against a suicidal, ideological regime has ever been won with diplomacy. We need to continue decimating Iran until there is an unconditional surrender along with the proxies. I'm not suggesting in any way we drop an atom bomb on Iran now, but, Iran has been waiting for 45 years for the moment that defending against their attacks is no longer effective. That is the moment they will unleash their arsenal that can have a catastrophic outcome. I would rather history books talking about how "genocidal" Israel is (which they will write regardless, no matter how humane a war we fight) than for the history books to write about a state that no longer exists.

@whynotthobr @KosherChutzpah @Osint613 No, in this case it would harm others besides the patient, if Iran attacks oil and gas drilling/refining in the region. I’m not saying it should be done, I’m just saying it isn’t a good metaphor for that reason.

The 4 Children of Far-Left Jewish Passover - 2026 edition. The "Woke" Child asks: Why do you care so much about Israel? Isn’t Zionism just colonialism? He removes himself from the story, forgetting that Jewish people are indigenous to the land of Israel. He swallows hashtags and TikTok takes as if they were sacred texts. You respond: Because if we don’t care, no one will. And had you been in Egypt, you’d have called Moses an oppressor. The Performative Child declares: I stand with all oppressed people... but not you. He shows up to every rally, every cause, unless it involves Jews. He lights candles for strangers overseas but stays silent when synagogues are vandalized. To him you say: Your silence is not neutrality. It is consent. The Naive Child wonders: Can’t we just have peace? If both sides just stopped fighting? He thinks this is a conflict about land, not the annihilation of a people. He doesn’t understand that “peace” without justice is surrender. You gently explain: We’ve tried. We withdrew. We gave. We were met with rockets, murder, and silence. The Child Who Doesn’t Know What a Jew Is: He mumbles something about decolonization, stares blankly when you say “pogrom,” and thinks the Maccabees were a boy band. To him you say: Come sit. Let me tell you a story. It starts in Egypt, winds through exile, and ends, not in Brooklyn, but in Jerusalem.
