Making the most interesting parts of your game inaccessible to most players and conveying lore through codex entries is the quickest way to guarantee that 99% of your players will watch some YouTube sum up your game instead of actually striving for those things.

@SolidShrimp @rubynesoberi Dark souls isn't designed with accessibility in mind though. It's only accessible in the sense that the controls are simple and many people like to play it. Mario 64 is accessible AF but also being good at Mario 64 is likely even harder than being good at melee or fortnite.
