@retneysholocron @Shinobi_Jedi84 You had diminishing returns with her films. And merchandising was a disappointment as were the Star Wars themed Disney attractions. And seven years between Star Wars films as well as the horrendous Acolyte and you can see how her tenure has been uneven at best.

@Shinobi_Jedi84 The Sequels made $4 billion. The Mandalorian show was a global phenomenon. She greenlit Andor. KK brought in massive success for Star Wars. If you're going to blame her for the failures then you have to give her credit for the wins.

Because they are already books. Just READ the books. The FILMS are the source material and the NOVELS are based on the films. It has never been the other way around and it never should be. That is not what Star Wars is. Its not like LOTR or Dune where they were books first.

@ZyifaRen Rey is a joke that was rejected by the fanbase. If she had truly been embraced there would have been three Rey movies by now. Instead after seven years we got Pedro Pascal in a mediocre, under performing film.

Rey being a Palpatine by blood but a Skywalker in spirit and adopted by them was the best choice for her character. She’s also one of the best Star Wars characters period.

@pottsbian But you didn't because he quit. Gatwa only wanted to do two seasons. And while Eccleston left because he wasn't comfortable with working with RTD and his crew, Gatwa saw the job as a short term thing to promote his own career.

@SpyHards Who the heck was calling him "unrealistic"? He was one of the most grounded bad guys in the franchise. Manipulating media to start a war? W. R. Hearst did that. He's not the same as as dudes with underwater, volcano or orbital bases. His goal was to make money. Lots of money

When TOMORROW NEVER DIES was released, many Bond fans dismissed Elliott Carver as an unrealistic villain. Nearly 30 years later, he may be the most prophetic villain in the entire franchise. Has your opinion of Carver changed over the years?

@Knightly_Hist Agreed. Troopers appear incompetent on the Death Star because the heroes are being allowed to escape so they can lead the DS to the rebel base. Troopers didn't seem so bad when they raided the Hoth base but man they shot terribly on Cloud City. Don't get me started on Endor.

The flanderisation of stormtroopers pisses me off. In their first ever onscreen appearance they clear a hallway of enemy soldiers, taking minimal casualties, with a full frontal assault. So much can be inferred about their equipment and skillset here.

@anabelle_dawn I beg to differ. I addressed your points in my first response. You have yet to say anything to convince me otherwise regarding the value of this character in regards to the franchise. If she was as awesome as you assert there would be Rey films. There are not, simple as that.

so much of the hate boils down to misogyny, pure and simple. she isn't "poorly written" (aside from a few thing i don't like from TROS); she isn't a "mary sue"; rey is among the best star wars characters, and her arc is full of struggles and failures. daisy is fantastic.
