@khaliltooshort Then why was Rey written as being the perfect Jedi? Right away she's a brilliant engineer, master pilot, masters The Force in such a way she's mind controlling people without even being told she can do that. And by the third film she's God-tier. She is the definition of Mary Sue.

@_LaraJenn Good observation. Part of what made The Doctor, well, The Doctor was his feeling just a little out of place. Gatwa's Doctor was too hip, too cool, too "with it". I think it was a lame attempt to make him accessible to younger audiences.

@disparutoo Remember when this franchise was on fire, with spinoffs like Sarah Jane and Torchwood? Now they pissed all of that away and it's so bad no one wants to play the character, apparently. I guess RTD and BBC are the true sources of toxicity, not the fans.

@Knight__dawg You have a point, but I would say the film goes off the rails when Po disappears for the second act after so much great banter between him and Finn. This film should have been about Rey, Po and Finn becoming friends. Finn as gunner, Rey engineer, Po pilot. A great team.

@KhanSaba1278 Bear in mind except for a few exceptions the black and white films will be many decades old, made at a time where there were different cultural norms. That being said, my favorite black and white film is The Maltese Falcon, a fantastic murder mystery.

The show had a promising start but descended into unwanted family melodrama you could have cut and the series could have been in 6 episodes instead of 8. It has a couple of stupid twists and ends in a cliffhanger where you have to come back for season two. Avoid at all costs.

@matpolloy Eh, I wouldn't go that far, but she does take charge regarding the stalemate in the hallway and she was right about how they got away too easily. Leia is not a damsel in distress, that is for sure. I think she was written as tough and capable. But leading the boys? Not really.

@bestofStarTrek I have, and it's okay. Just okay. I saw it once, never need to see it again. Sofie was good but Idris played a "meh" villain. Once more they're up against someone out for revenge(!). Star Trek used to be about science fiction, not Star Wars-esque shoot-em-ups.
