@BBCGuernsey Why would they think its for all islanders to pay to remove their fallen trees! If they didn't want a bill, maybe they should have gone out and cleared them themselves.

3 The only report that can find mention of bbc.co.uk/news/world-eur… in 2012 Which mentions a once in a 100 year risk I think if you asked today’s tenants who wanted to be house owners, they’d gladly take that risk than spend their salad days contributing to landlords’ pensions

2 also in the vicinity govgg bought Saltpans vinery making a total of £10.5m And then Leales Yard for £4.5m To solve a Housing Crisis why would we make land purchases in a flood zone? +Given there are houses all around with no flooding, what sort of flood risk is going on?

So @Govgg E&I ban mountain biking, a Recreation that is positive. While at the sametime permitting @gfc football to negatively impact the economy by grinding traffic to a halt every home game.

@Laura_radiogsy @Govgg @gfc I thought as part of planning approval that @GuernseyFC had to mitigate the impact on neighbours. It seems their mitigation is to back up traffic through town on a Saturday, and E&I permit it. While E&I ban other recreation

@StoneDeCroze @Govgg @gfc I live nearby, and the traffic backed up my road on game days is crazy. I don't know why more people don't use the buses/cycle/walk - lots seem to be dropped off at the top of the Track.

@ANDYDB7 @pvbsc1 @jojomay1 @DavidPiesing63 Some, I'm sure. But enough to keep delivering the services we want to the standard we want, I doubt. I don't think anyone wants more tax, but while we want all these services we may need to have to pay more tax. Then it needs to be a tax that people can't avoid.

@pvbsc1 @jojomay1 @DavidPiesing63 What about getting spending under control. It s the big elephant in the room. As in Jersey. They just bury their heads. There must be some unnecessary spend they can find

In today’s Press it is reported that Deputy Parkinson stated “the people of Guernsey have shown that they do not support GST, by majority”. What have I missed? The electoral roll is just over 27,000. About 3,000 may have marched against it, around 24,000 voters did not. There’s a couple of hundred vocal opponents of it on Facebook. Several pro-GST candidates lost their seats, and several got elected or re-elected. I know many who are either silently in favour of GST+ or at least ambivalent about it.

@LeonieLeTissier @Lindsay_Gsy U R right it will be inflationary. But we need a tax that no-one can avoid. There are people who are living of capital, so pay no income tax, yet are entitled to all island services. How is that fare or reasonable 🤔.

Typical Guernsey, its easier to ban something than find a solution where people can share space on our small island. Where does the @nationaltrust suggest is suitable?

@LeonieLeTissier @Lindsay_Gsy But whether we bring in GST will not change that. Everything will go up by 5%, so the cost difference will be the same. Introducing exemptions will just increase costs meaning more will need to be raised. The Plus effectively provides and exemption to reasonable living costs.

Message from @Nickleh today “I can’t find my keys, they’re somewhere in your house. Would you mind having a look for them?” I walk in the front door and lo - look what’s hanging up

@JohnFernandez1 SACC have made it clear that the by-election can be done for £75,000. Why are you perpetuating the £200,000 figure?
