here’s the facts: If Bungie properly balanced the Marathon sandbox (which they are fully capable of doing) instead of leaving it to whatever players complain about each week, the community WOULD NOT constantly fight each-other. We are literally set against each-other, because they keep letting broken metas thrive. You shouldn’t be able to have 500 frag nades that literally ONE SHOT BLUE SHIELDS, and lose everything to a nade. That’s worse than the goo gun (end game weapon) and MOST PRESTIGE weapons. It is genuinely good for the overall health of the game for them to keep listening to community feedback and nerf things. HOWEVER, the nerfs they are doing ARE TOO MUCH: WSTR, knife, etc. It is almost as if they want us to argue to make more traction…. like they did in Destiny 2….

@shrinkleberry Bungie always fails to understand the causes of why something needs to be changed, which is why they fail to implement good change into their games. For example: instead of just giving basic bad luck protection or upping the amount of loot in D2, they gave us the crafting system

Whenever Bungie nerfs or buffs something, they either destroy said thing so it becomes utterly worthless or they buff said thing so it becomes overpowered, no in between. It's really strange how they can't seem to balance their PVP especially seeing how they did they same for D2

@clarityysix Why should the BASE knife do more damage than a gun? I definitely think you should have to build into it for it to do significant damage vs runners.

I keep seeing posts like this, almost like I said the nerf was going to be bad & not reverting the knife nerfs is going to leave CQC is a really weird spot The WSTR nerf or the Knifr Nerf, having both is just unhealthy for cqc combat

The Marathon sandbox in its current state is less enjoyable than it was on Day 1 of Marathon 🥲 Issue 1: Grenades are rampant because the economy changed and access to them have increased. Fix: Limit how many grenades you can carry into a run. Issue 2: WSTR is useless, meaning you are at a disadvantage in CQC if you don't have a Misriah with Slick Mag/Gold Mod. Fix: Revert the WSTR damage nerf and instead nerf the RPM so it's not just an instant death if you run into one + Nerf the Gold Slug mod so it cannot 1 shot purple shields. The community appreciates the quick updates but some of these changes overcooked🤠👍 @MarathonDevTeam @Ziegler_Dev

@MallowTheQueen Genuinely, what more do they need? They have meds, 2 guns, a 16x backpack, a stack of claymores that can stop a push or do significant damage. That’s better than a sponsored kit I have to pay for.

I need people to understand that when I say "nerfing the WSTR made Rooks less powerful", it's not because I think Rooks SHOULD be picking 3v1 PvP fights. But rather because I think they should have the ability to defend themselves from aggressive fully kitted players

Marathon thoughts: - WSTR nerf is good. it fills the role of “clean up tool,” not just “bumrush at full health” - blue shields (and stack overflow) are more valuable - 6 health/shield for free kits is great! allows more aggressive play off the jump -radial menu finally works! 🤣
