Just spoke at a community board meeting where a bunch of boomer NIMBYs are trying to argue this Manhattan parking lot is actually a “historic landmark” and therefore shouldn’t be turned into affordable housing. NIMBYs are truly beyond parody.

@admcrlsn This sucks for lower Manhattan voters. Way to disenfranchise the largest growing residential community in NYC...would never grow enough to have a dedicated congressman vs other part of the district... Gerrymandering isn't good for the voters.

This would have a ton of ripple effects, especially if this is the new map: — NY-11 would become a blue-leaning swing district (~Harris +3.5) — Goldman would prob switch to running against Malliotakis in NY-11 (but maybe Max Rose runs?) — Lander likely on glide path in NY-10

@MamdaniWatch Good plan to get a law in place that cannot be challenged to protect houses of worship. For those screaming ...calm down people..this will protect all houses of worship from St Patrick's Cathedral to Central Synagogue to Buddhist Temples (yes in NYC) & Mosques.
