Oyo Att@ck: This Is a Time for Prayers and Unity, Not a Time to Blame Anybody— Defence Minister Musa Tells Residents Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru Musa, has urged residents of the affected communities in Oyo State to remain united and resilient following the abd¥ction of pupils and teachers in the area. Addressing community members during a visit, Musa said the current situation calls for unity rather than blame, assuring them that the Federal Government remains committed to securing the release of those kidn@pped. “Let us continue to pray together. Let’s continue to unite. It’s not a time to blame anybody. It’s a time for unity,” he said. The minister commended the strength and resilience of the communities, noting that the government had witnessed their determination firsthand. “You are a strong community. We have driven around. We have seen how resilient you are. And God is with you. God will continue to strengthen us,” he added. According to Musa, the kidn@ppers’ goal is to create fear and division among the people and weaken their confidence in government efforts. “Their intention is to put fear among us and to put division so that you think the government is not doing right or people don’t care about you,” he said. He stressed that President Bola Tinubu and government officials across the country are concerned about the welfare of the affected communities. “The President and all the team in Abuja and everywhere cares about what happens here because you, to us, you are all family,” Musa stated. The minister also acknowledged the infrastructure challenges in the area, assuring residents that the federal, state and local governments would work together to improve conditions. “I know the local government, the state government and the federal government will do something to assist you to make sure that this place is better than we have seen it,” he said. Encouraging residents to remain hopeful, Musa concluded: “Please remain very strong. God is with us and we shall succeed.”
